Walter gives a confused look before lightening up and smiling returning a light punch to the arm

"I've got a pet name now huh? Kind of catchy."

He stops to speak with her about the sortie

"The Sortie went fine, could've gone better but what matters is that the Pertinax is safe, the Shikra is being repaired, are the Imperials are short of some fancy hardware."

Jaakko listens to Walt.

"I wonder if Mjolnir is using all of its requisitions clout to keep fixing your Shikra every time you break it," Jaakko says.

The dogs are fixated on Virvel.

[Badger]

"Every hit it takes isn't one on your Airframe, I had to land it at the facility we were protecting. I believe that because I wasn't in the air at that moment to be attracting missiles, the corsair took enough damage for Yui to eject."

Walter looks at the dogs

"The Shikra is a flying block of steel anyways, I imagine it's actually cheaper to fix up."

"I could read a few passages to you," she offers the robot. She watches Eremit as he fidgets with his prayer beads.

[Mr. Hurricane]

Jaakko raises an eyebrow.

"The Shikra is left at that airbase due to damage I presume? And we lost the Corsair. I'm sure requisitions is going to get sick of us asking for replacements,"

He rubs his face.

"I've heard you need to appease requisitions more than you need to appease HiCom, like how you should appease secretaries and custodians more than your bosses. That reasoning made it make sense, for me anyway," Jaakko hypothesizes, "Secretaries, custodians, desk jocks make your immediate world work, day to day,"

[Qwepir]

"The Shikra is a flying block of steel anyways, I imagine it's actually cheaper to fix up."

Virvel laughs.
: You know, there's a reason the rest of us fly Aesthian planes, and not war salvage. Especially not war salvage that had all the blueprints burned.

"I could read a few passages to you," she offers the robot. She watches Eremit as he fidgets with his prayer beads.

: I want to learn more about my creator.

"Your creator?" she asks, pulling a holy book from its holder on the back of the bench in front of them. "And who do you consider that to be?" She idly thumbs at the pages of the book.

Virvel laughs.
: You know, there's a reason the rest of us fly Aesthian planes, and not war salvage. Especially not war salvage that had all the blueprints burned.

Walter shrugs with a half frown, taking the second opinion with more consideration

"I prefer their aircraft by a large margin, I'm able to shrug off hits and dish out damage at the cost of some mauverablity. I'm sure it's inevitable that I'll have to switch into something different."

Walter sighs before lighting up again

"Maybe I'll get a wyrven, or even a nosferatu."

Faw takes a cigarette out of his shirt pocket and stick it in his mouth. He goes digging around in his pocket for a match that isn't there before giving up.

He taps Jaakko on the shoulder and gestures to the cigarette in his mouth.

"Hey. Got a match?"

[Mr. Hurricane]

"Huh?" Jaakko grunts.

His head snaps around to see Faw.

"No, I don't, sorry," he says.

Jaakko remembers that Geary surely would have had what Faw was looking for. He brushes the thought aside, and looks around as if it would help much.

"I don't know who would have a light for you of the people here, and Geary was the only other smoker in the squadron," he replies.

Faw takes the cigarette out of his mouth and puts it back in his shirt pocket.

"Thanks anyways."

"Hey, have you spoken to Yui lately? I saw her walking around the base looking like someone dragged her out of a river. Like a zombie."

[Qwepir]

"Your creator?" she asks, pulling a holy book from its holder on the back of the bench in front of them. "And who do you consider that to be?" She idly thumbs at the pages of the book.

: The one named Nebolai. I have overheard that he is the one who gifted humans with sophisticated technology.

: Psh. Don't hold your breath.

Faw takes a cigarette out of his shirt pocket and stick it in his mouth. He goes digging around in his pocket for a match that isn't there before giving up.
He taps Jaakko on the shoulder and gestures to the cigarette in his mouth.
"Hey. Got a match?"

"I don't know who would have a light for you of the people here, and Geary was the only other smoker in the squadron," he replies.

Before Jaakko even finishes his sentence, Frisk and Virvel are offering Faw their lighters.

[Mr. Hurricane]

"That's right, I didn't think about them," Jaakko remarks quietly, feeling stupid.

He shifts in his seat so he can see Faw without a strain.

"No, I haven't. Walt mentioned that she lost the Corsair though," Jaakko replies, "That's all I know. Oh, how did that sortie go anyway? Corsair is lost, and the Shikra may well be totaled, I know that much now,"

Cualli nods slightly and, after perusing the first few pages of the book, flips to a passage about what the robot told her it was interested in. She turns her body so she faces the robot more, still taking care to disturb Arkhip as little as possible, before reading in a quiet voice to it.

It isn't a particularly long passage. She looks up at the robot after she finishes reading, obviously expectant of its input.

Faw accepts a light from Frisk. He turns his attention to Jaakko.

"Yeah. The Corsair was hit by a SAM right after we crippled the Interdictor, The Shikra was turned into a pincushion, and the squadron that was there before we arrived was pretty much completely obliterated. We saved the Pertinax though."

Faw sighs.

"The mission probably didn't do much to endear us to Izzy, however."
