Jaakko nods.

"All that had to happen is the Pertinax had to survive. You didn't let the efforts of the marines be in vain. Now as for Izzy- we're not in the business of getting sympathy from fascists. I'd prefer NAUC to remain as free as it was when we cast off their chains and sent them back to their stuffhole continent," he responds.

Yui makes her way to the rec room, lifting her hand in a raise at Faw and Jaakko, and wondering when tippy will pick a movie sits down and watches whatever's currently on.

Faw coughs.

"I understand what you're saying. But I'd be cautious about waving the white flag to Imperial forces. Our battlefield conduct hasn't been the, uh, cleanest."

Yui makes her way to the rec room, lifting her hand in a raise at Faw and Jaakko, and wondering when tippy will pick a movie sits down and watches whatever's currently on.

Faw notices her enter the rec room. He leans back into the chair and relaxes himself.

"Welcome. We're petting smokes and lighting dogs. Enjoy yourself."

"Their human rights record isn't exactly the cleanest either," Jaakko retorts, "just like their old allies,"

He looks down at the dogs, whom are in ecstasy as they are being pampered by Virvel, and reflects on Rikard's statement about the use of nuclear arms to get the Imps to negotiate. After a few moments he looks back to Faw and continues.

"I wouldn't worry about it. It's three against one now. With the surrender of the Huitz the Imperials are left to fight more or less alone. However, they are more competent than the Huitz, or so I've been told,"

"That's the plan...wait what."
Yui looks stressed more than anything, partially because of the mission, and slightly confused at Faw's word mixing.

"I appreciate your sentiment, but I am worrying about it. When I bail out, I'd like a decent chance of not getting shot in my chute. I'm not sure if you remember, but a man named Kissinger used to be part of our squadron. He lost his head during a mission and shot an enemy pilot who had bailed out."

He takes a drag of his cigarette. He taps some ash into a nearby tray before exhaling the smoke.

"The Huits weren't exactly kind to him when he ejected from his burning plane. People will remember what you do up in the air. If you're not careful they might just return the favor. It's the difference between surviving this war and having a closed casket funeral."

Faw turns his head to Yui.

"You okay? Is what happened during the Interdictor's evacuation what's bothering you?"

Yui starts thinking back to the gas station. She knew what she was doing. She made the decision to fire that missile, and probably killed a dozen civilians. She also killed people who weren't capable of fighting, even if they were the enemy, then left it out of the report. She's nearly overwhelmed by guilt, but she keeps herself under control. She neglects to answer Faw's first question.
"...yes. On top of that, I don't know if you noticed, but the anti-missile systems were tracking me in my chute. I was certain I was about to die. I had sort of come to terms with it and everything. I don't know why, but something doesn't feel right. I should have died."

Jaakko looks to Yui, then to Faw.

"The Imps aren't barbarians, they like those war conventions and arms limitation treaties and whatnot. They shouldn't harm you if you are shot down, and I would think that they would try those they believe to by guilty of war crimes,"

Jaakko reflects on the other possibilities, that the Imps would just set up kangaroo courts and not allow the accused to mount a defense. Such is their righteous government, anyway.

Walter remains silent, observing virvel and the dogs, quietly darting his eyes between people during the conversation.

He decides to move over to one of the dogs, letting it sniff his hand before giving it some of his own attention.

Cualli nods slightly and, after perusing the first few pages of the book, flips to a passage about what the robot told her it was interested in. She turns her body so she faces the robot more, still taking care to disturb Arkhip as little as possible, before reading in a quiet voice to it.

It isn't a particularly long passage. She looks up at the robot after she finishes reading, obviously expectant of its input.
It appears to be thinking.
: Interesting.

Frisk sat down and started watching TV after having his lighter returned, and Virvel has been petting the dogs.

"You okay? Is what happened during the Interdictor's evacuation what's bothering you?"
: What happened?

"What do you think?" Cualli asks.

"...I really don't want to talk about it."

Walter shifts the subject slightly to cover Yui

"At least she didn't have to get blasted by a deflagration ray, Im glad that I dealt with that slippery guy when I did."

"What do you think?" Cualli asks.
: I would like to know more.

Before Cualli can respond to the machine, a booming voice rings out behind her, causing Eremit to pinch his temples in either frustration or embarrassment.
: What is that thing doing here?

Walter shifts the subject slightly to cover Yui

"At least she didn't have to get blasted by a deflagration ray, Im glad that I dealt with that slippery guy when I did."
: Whoa now, slow down. You did what with a guy?

Cualli spins around, quickly rising to her feet, and looks to see where the voice came from. "Excuse me?" she demands, still holding the holy book open. "Is there a problem?"
