Cualli looks amused by his response. "Not even me?" she teases.
: That is correct.

"Just today, apparently, thanks to Tippy."

Gus watches the TV in bemusement, wondering how any two people could stand having to sit that long.
: I see.

Musashi goes over to pet one of the dogs next to Jaakko.

"Neither do I. Something light to talk over was on my mind, You're fine with just beer right?"
: Hmm...

She looks at the drink menu for a few seconds, before finally pointing to a specific brand.
: I'm partial to Tennfjord.

"I'd imagine, not to mention that it hurt like hell."
Yui pauses for a moment.
"I think that I got lucky getting out of my plane. That blast, not to mention the PPC to the face, should have killed me."
: How'd you not get caught when you went down?

"I think I'll try it myself too."

Walter nods and sets down the menu, attempting to flag down the bartender and get two of the drink.

"So do you know how much Frisk generally makes off his little side business? Why would he even be in the Air force if he's so proficient with that stuff?"

"A lot of luck, really. I landed near Gus, and he patched me up and carried me to the extraction point. We got caught in a firefight as the helicopter touched down, but as far as I'm aware nobody else was hurt."

: I dunno, maybe because he's a coward. Not that people in the Air Force are cowards, but it's you must admit it's a lot lower risk than being in the Army or Marines. He's just close enough to the action that he can pick up some souvenirs to sell off, but not so close that he'd get a bomb dropped on his head. That's my guess anyway.

: You should buy a lotto ticket once you can move around on your own. This is what, your third time going down now?

"It's certainly less risk in the air force, It's a lot less personal too when shooting down a plane."

Walter looks up at the wall then back

"I thought about joining the ground forces for a marksman position, or something of the sort. Something held me from it though..."

Walter begins to play with his hands while he thinks about dishing out some of his welled up thoughts, and if he should. He felt comfortable enough in the quiet bar, yet his previous statement from the last time he was at the bar of making connections sat in the back of his mind, terrorizing his decision to continue.

"Perhaps. Besides, I actually think it's my fourth or fifth. I have no clue why I've been allowed to fly. Other than this, the worst that happened was a broken rib."

: That is correct.
"Okay, tell me about me, then. What's your opinion on me?"

: stuff, no kidding. How are you still cleared to fly?

"Okay, tell me about me, then. What's your opinion on me?"
: You are marginally less unsettling than your comrades.

Gus absentmindedly feels his stitches gingerly while watching the game. While not particularly wide or long, it was quite deep, and came within a few centimeters of perforating his more important organs. According to the doctor, it was likely caused by a high velocity piece of shrapnel or sharp edge as he ejected. He shivers slightly at the thought.

Over the course of this war, Gus realizes, he has collected nearly as many scars as a decade of mixed martial arts back home. There was a time when he would have worn them all with pride, but now they serve only as unpleasant reminders.

: You are marginally less unsettling than your comrades.
"What's unsettling about me?"

"I have no clue. The Coalition must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel."

: What was it?

He pauses a moment and collects his thoughts, deciding to follow through after sighing.

"Don't get me wrong, I don't have an issue with firing a rifle and ending someones life. Dead, Is dead. I just know that if I was to kill someone it wouldn't matter for that single person, but what would matter is the people connected to that person would be affected."

Walter pauses again

"I feel like if I had watched a person before I killed them, interacting with their peers somewhere, I'd feel guilt for killing them and taking them away."

Walter shifts in his seat with a more neutral expression on his face

"That mindset comes back to get me, But in the other way around, where I could be the person losing someone.... So right now, I'm kind of scared to speak to you about this, I'm not sure if you've noticed but I haven't really said or done anything when my squad members get shot down or... pass... I haven't displayed a level of emotion for that sort of thing since..."

He cuts himself off to stave off the sentence

"I rather protect the people I know the best I can, I can't cure death. But I can prevent it or at least by shifting the amount of it to the other side."

"What's unsettling about me?"
: Your demeanor differs too much from your comrades' to be predictable. Additionally, you are very large.

"I have no clue. The Coalition must really be scraping the bottom of the barrel."
Frisk just nods.

: That's the spirit! Every one of those bastards we let get away could be ten more grieving families here!

"So, why'd you join the air force?"

: Your demeanor differs too much from your comrades' to be predictable. Additionally, you are very large.
"Large?" Cualli's eyebrows raise at the comment, although she looks amused rather than offended. "For future reference, women don't really like to be called 'large.'"

She smiles a bit before continuing. "I would've thought that you've been around me long enough by now to have a handle on me. Although that does raise the question of what do you expect from people? Well, as you put it, my 'comrades.'"
