: The first thing I can remember is waking up on it. I didn't get to stay long, because right after I awoke, we were shuttled off it. It was larger than this one though.
Cualli shifts so she's resting her forearm on Elu's shoulder and leaning on him. "So they just... make you guys on big carriers, and then ship you off? 'Hey, welcome to the world, time to throw you into it, have fun?'"

Ellie checks out the hangar of the airship for any new craft.

"It's like it's one giant gods damned fire hazard. How much do you want to bet they're rushing this carrier into service?"

: As I have said, periodic non-essential memory wipes are standard practice. In all likelihood, I was not constructed on an aircraft carrier.

Ellie checks out the hangar of the airship for any new craft.
The hangar deck is currently devoid of aircraft.

: Did it look like this on the carrier your squadron was on?

"Oh. Right." Cualli looks like she feels a bit dumb for that lapse and keeps leaning on him, looking up at the carrier.

She turns her attention to Arkhip. "Does it look like you expected it to?"

"If I recall correctly- I think it was like this, actually," Jaakko corrects himself.

: It's bigger than I expected. I mean, I've seen pictures of these kinds of planes before, and flown past them a few times, but I guess they just don't look as big as they are until you see them in person.

: This is going to take some getting used-

Pansar punches Kommandant on the shoulder and gestures down the hallway.
: Look sharp.
: What- oh.

Pansar and Kommandant press themselves against the wall to get out of the way and salute a rather dour fellow with a five-star rank insignia (and it can be assumed that crash and tempest do as well) as he walks by, accompanied by another high-ranking officer, someone in a suit, and two Air Force infantrymen. The officers continue past, acknowledging your salutes with a nod. Once the group has gone through a side door and is out of earshot, conversation resumes.
: Cool.
: Huh. I'd heard the Sky Marshal was here, but I wasn't expecting to bump into him like that.

Morten starts walking in the direction the Sky Marshal came from, and Kommandant follows.

"So who do you think you're going to be holed up with? Maybe  you'll get a nice and cozy room with your best friend eremit."

"I hadn't heard a thing. That wasn't nerve racking at all," Jaakko comments.

At the end of the hallway is a stairwell, in which the only way is up. A temporary sign is placed, reading that the "Assault deck" is just above, aft ventral gunnery stations are in the direction you just came from, and latrines are down the hallway on the other side of the stairwell. An additional note is attached to the sign saying that the latrines are not to be used right now.

: I sure as hell hope not. Having to stay in close quarters with that miseryguts for weeks would drive me crazy.

"How often do you think you're gonna get lost on it?" she teases.

: Dunno. I'm gonna go look around inside.

You have to ask around a bit, and eventually comes across an engineer who insists you not call the High Altitude Assisted Recovery Device a "tractor beam" because "it sounds stupid". He does, however, give you directions to where it's controlled from. You find yourself in a gondola-like structure hanging over the recovery deck, with windows providing a panoramic view to the rear of the airship. There are several control consoles covered in more buttons and screens than you would assume would be necessary. You make a note of the emergency oxygen mask container and what appear to be retracted shutters at the top of each window.

Virvel stops to reflect on what she just said, then hops off the wheel.
: Now that I think of it though, I'd like to see just how close these quarters are.

She starts walking to board the craft.

: Dunno. I'm gonna go look around inside.
"Mind if we join you? We could go see how stuffty the engineer quarters are," she grins.
