"Alright, we're not going to get in between the destroyers. We're getting a new angle. Follow me,"

Jaakko begins to guide the squadron to a position where the flight is closing on the Ferox and Excelsior from the destroyer group's 2 o'clock.

Jaakko begins to guide the squadron to a position where the flight is closing on the Ferox and Excelsior from the destroyer group's 2 o'clock.

Mjolnir begins skirting around the two destroyers to better hit them side-on. Halfway through the maneuver, a portion of their drone escort ceases the holding pattern and changes course to intercept Walt, Gaffe, Snowman, and Hawkeye. You aren't in range of their weapons, but they will be in the way of any attack runs once the maneuver is completed.

[Mr. Hurricane]

"Drones are moving towards us. Skytracer, it's on you and me. Walt, do you figure your gunship magic and LBXs' could take out a few drones? If you're not comfortable with it, then stay back,"

Jaakko wishes dearly he had brought extended range radar.

Graf hears the notice that drones are setting up an attack run. Although he is not in range yet, he still aims his rocket pods on the Excelsior's VLS sites, but does not fire, nor breaks formation.

The drones maintain their position just forward of the Condottiero as it and the rest of Mjolnir close on the Excelsior, screening for the rest of the squadron.

Yui watches a few of the contacts move towards their position, not quite worried yet.

Walter breaks off formation and heads directly towards the drones.

Walter breaks off formation and heads directly towards the drones.

Two of the drones split from the main group to intercept your flight path. They will be in range for you in two turns (everyone else in four). Additionally, you receive a radar warning, despite neither destroyer firing a SAM at you.
: Mjolnir squadron be advised, I'm picking up a missile launch from one of the cruisers downtown. They're probably firing on you, advise you drop to roof level to avoid lock.

Yui drops to just above rooftop height, dropping two chaff.

Ellie drops her altitude to avoid getting shot up by the destroyer's defenses.

Graf also drops two chaff, doing evasive maneuvers just in case, then drops to below SAM level.

Gus takes a moment to appreciate his tremendous stupidity for not clarifying to the pilot.

"Keep us out of range of the destroyer squadron's guns."

He looks between the screens in front of him, a tiny corner of the tactical map dedicated to the battle raging far from them. A small alert notifies him of the fact that the cruisers are now aware of their presence.

"Izzy cruisers over the city are looking our way. Get as low as you're comfortable with, I don't want to risk their wrath."
