Once everyone is aboard, the VTOL's doors are shut and it is brought out to the recovery deck to be launched. Looking out the windows, you can see the technicians in their pressure suits signaling to each other as they perform the final pre-flight checks. This goes on for quite some time, when at last one in a white suit gives the O.K. sign and the lot of them back away towards the wall. With a sudden clang and the groan of heavy machinery, you are hoisted off the floor and gently carried backwards out of the mothership until you see the deck give way to the ground more than three kilometers below. The VTOL's own engines, their idle screaming utterly drowned out by the roar of the Tordenskjold's, remind everyone of their presence as they spool up to full power.
: Hope you're strapped in back there, 'cause here we go!

The VTOL is released from its clamp, and your stomach shoots up into your throat as you drop two dozen feet almost instantly. Before you can even catch your bearings, the craft exits the carrier's slipstream and is violently shaken by the turbulent airflow left in its wake. Finally, after what felt like several minutes of abject terror (in actuality, more like ten to twenty seconds), Virvel levels the VTOL out, and you begin a much smoother flight to the coordinates of Phobos's escape capsule.

snowman and scorch also take off

Tippy burps slightly and waves her hand in front of her helmet

"Phew, drops like that always give me a little bit of indigestion."

"Felt like my stomach just flipped upside down, I drank a little too much water while we we're waiting."

Walter hunches a bit and pulls in some deep breathes before returning to his previous stature

Tippy burps slightly and waves her hand in front of her helmet

: Hey, helmet hair! What's with that gun, anyway? Goths don't even use it anymore, how'd you get it?

Tippy replied to the refreshingly sociable soldier.

:"I asked them nicely for it. Then I took it."

Tippy replied to the refreshingly sociable soldier.

:"I asked them nicely for it. Then I took it."
: Bullstuff!

The trooper to his right elbows him in the shoulder.
: Hey man, why do you care so much about her gun anyway?
: Look at it, it's an antique! What if it doesn't work?

: Look at it, it's an antique! What if it doesn't work?
Tippy leans forward

:"I take good care of it. My gun jamming should be the least of your worries."

: Those rifles are built to last, it still shoots fine from what I've seen it do at the range.

Tippy leans forward
"I take good care of it. My gun jamming should be the least of your worries."
: Yeah, we've got plenty of other worries about it, like not being able to use any of your ammo once you get shot!

His cohort punches him in the shoulder.
: Shut the hell up, Rask, do you-
: Excuse me?

: Excuse me?

"Looks like you've got a distant relative back here Virvel."

: Yeah, we've got plenty of other worries about it, like not being able to use any of your ammo once you get shot!
Tippy sighs and leans back into her seat.

"Then pick up a big stick. You're a big guy, right? Or am I being fooled and you're actually two midgets wearing a combat uniform?"

"Looks like you've got a distant relative back here Virvel."
: What? Oh, the pilot- we weren't talking to you, we were talking to this idiot back here!
: You better be, or I'll dump all your asses out the doors!

The trooper sitting on the other side of Corporal Rask also punches him.

Tippy sighs and leans back into her seat.
"Then pick up a big stick. You're a big guy, right? Or am I being fooled and you're actually two midgets wearing a combat uniform?"
He shakes his head and waves you off, having landed himself in enough trouble already.

Tippy asks a general question towards the soldiers

:"How long have you guys been in deployment thus far?"

: Me an' Rask here have been on deployment for months now. We've been offered the opportunity to get rotated off the front lines what, twice now?

He looks to the trooper next to him, who nods.
: Yeah, twice. Said "nah, we're good". New blood farther down the bench though, this is their first deployment.

:"I guess you like it out here then? Can't say i'd blame you. I wouldn't know what to do with myself back home after all this."
