Faw barely stops himself from stepping into a mess of soupy guts and gnarled flesh. He mouthes a curse word before turning around to Gus.

"This isn't good. This was the last known location of her beacon, right?"

Gus heads towards the roof access. Dried blood stains the roof near the door, along with chunks of flesh. He tries the door, and sees that it is locked. With nothing else to do, he looks around for some identifying item.

"According to her beacon, it is," Jaakko replies to Faw.

Jaakko turns on his own light and looks around the roof for any signs that a pilot was here, such as a pilot bag or helmet, or any associated kit.
The gore makes Jaakko uncomfortable.
A battle-damaged ejection seat lies on its side near a blast crater. Tattered pieces of flesh and flight suit are spread along the roof, drawing a grisly line of entrails from a crater near the roof access shack.

Gus begins searching for ID as to who exactly the poor sod is, either in the form of dog tags, a tattered squadron patch or nametag, or, gods forbid, their head. He is not immediately met with success.

"Oh Gods, there's her seat, probably-"

The chunks of viscera and suit make Jaakko feel sick. He traces the trail with his light, looking for a body, if there is one to be found.

"stuff."

Faw looks across the rooftop. He clicks onto squad comms.

"Virvel, do you have spotlights on that VTOL? We could use some stronger illumination on the rooftop."

Markus continues to look around for any sort of identification, and looks over the edge nearest the roof entrance, shining his flashlight down.

"Gods, there's not even enough to put in a coffin." Gus mutters.

The pilot seat is distinctly not Kintharian. Gus continues to search.

Lying face down near the edge of the building is a mutilated upper torso wearing a tattered flight suit. The left shoulder squadron patch is missing, along with the rest of the pilot's arm.

"Oh, Gods damn it all, there's the pilot,"

Jaakko cautiously approaches the body.

Gus follows Jaakko. He looks back at one of the grunts.

"May as well get a body bag."

It's not moving. Obviously.

Gus follows Jaakko. He looks back at one of the grunts.
"May as well get a body bag."
: Or like, a bucket.

The grunt gets rifle butted in the gut by his commanding officer.
: Shut up! Olson, Lahti, fetch them a body bag.

Markus tries to open the door on the roof, if it wasn't blasted open.

"Bring the bag over here," Jaakko says.

He approaches the corpse. The acrid smell of iron and sulfur cause him to cough. He turns the corpse over, and shines the light on its head.

It falls off its hinges when you try.

Under the light you see a pair of eyes wide with shock. The glare off the visor is too severe to make out much else underneath the helmet (and the breath mask is covering the lower half of their face anyway), but glancing down and noticing the Captain's stripes and the nametag reading AKEMI gives you all the information you need.
Two of the soldiers return with a body bag.
