Jaakko, being mostly unaware of the situation that the CAP is facing aside from the flight lead's response, complies with the Sky Marshal and repeats the order to escort the cruisers.

"We'll stay underneath the cruisers' guns, I don't want to be dodging burst missiles in addition to the missile hell we've had to contend with,"

"This guy is right, if we take the heat off the cruisers they'll be able to deal with the enemy fleet easier. By the time we're finished with the fighter group the burst missiles should no longer be a problem."

"The problem is closing with the attacking flights," Jaakko says, "They won't be bombing the airspace around their own squadron as you can imagine."

He is silent for a moment and twists to look at the air cruisers. He could hear them, even feel the rumble of their engines.

"Risk big to save big I suppose. Reserve flight, when we go, go ahead and take the lead, Mjolnir, we'll follow behind them to contain anything that breaks through. Aero, Blackeye, be vigilant and contain anything that may get through the rest of us. Also, don't fall apart either. Kommandant, Bell, any objections?"

He pauses.

"Is there anything else on the radar scopes? I don't want to be surprised by stealth strike aircraft,"

The Aesthian fighters surge out of their cover to catch up to Virvel, and before long you make contact with the incoming fighter wing. The Imperial fleet looms over the city center behind them.

Mjolnir sticks themselves behind the allied squadron of Fulcrums and lets them lead the charge. By the time the enemy formation is in missile range, the battlescape looks like such:
