hey guys im using my apple pro and currently running a windows

no, they thought windows 8 was gonna be stuff because no start buttons and they ended up being wrong and windows 8 turned out great

finally someone who thinks win 8 isn't terrible

imo 8.1 is better and I'm not a fan, but I wouldn't say it's terrible

hey guys im using my apple pro and currently running a windows

did you do that yourself?

ok i don't need ur sass buster

saying "a windows" can imply some misunderstandings and i'm not sure where they might lie

google doesn't help because this is about the op specifically

obv i know what windows is lol

I know they are more expensive then what PCs may offer.

I would rather spend some more money, lol.

That's what everyone thought about the previous ones, right? :/
You're not spending some more money, you're spending twice as much money as you could be spending for the same hardware. Most people though 8 was going to be stuff, and most people didnt like it because it took away the start menu, me included. However, 10 brings back the start menu and adds other cool features to it. There are tons of software out there that's equivalent to iCloud too, there's OneDrive, Google Drive, Mega, Dropbox, and that's just scratching the surface.

Plus, like I said, hackintoshes are a thing. You buy your own hardware and your own case and just install mac OS on top of that. There are tons of online communities that can help you through this process. You spend half as much money and get essentially the same thing either way you go.

psssh mac pro? more like the mac NO!!!

This guy knows what's up, listen to him. Don't bother spending 2k+ on hardware you can get much cheaper. If you REALLY need iOS make a Hackintosh but I don't see the need of why you'd need to do that considering Windows already has all the software you need, like Adobe After Effects and Sony Vegas for video editing

One does not simply put iOS on a desktop...

You sure? There's programs to edit your mac iso into a hackintosh iso with one click. You could have a computer 5x as powerful running Mac OSX. :(

Buying a $2000 Mac doesn't get you $2000 of hardware. It gets you $600-$800 of hardware with an OS that people think is worth money when in reality it's BSD but you're not allowed to use it like normal BSD.

Also Window's OS can't support 4K so take that PC masterrace.
a phone can support 4k

I don't have a good history with Windows. They mess up on every single little thing. The only thing I think they are good for is gaming.

Explain to me this, why do businesses still use an operating system made 12 years ago if it only good for gaming. Windows is like the brother in the family that knows what he can do. Macintosh is like that stupid slut sister with big tits.

i'm honestly a bit towards windows (i'm currently taking a microsoft IT academy class and getting my MTA-349 cert) but i understand macs are good computers too and these lil fanboys wanna tell you otherwise

what are you planning to do on it OP? you said you're getting into film editing, so you're probably gonna want to get the mac pro. the extra specs will be nice like you said. i have the LG G3 and have a 4K screen on my phone which i absolutely adore, but you gotta realize that with a 5k retina display comes decreased battery life. also, you won't find many movies in 5k, so they'll most likely look the same as the imac on the mac pro.

basically, it comes down to whether or not you want raw power or a pretty screen. i love 4ks and retinas, but holy hell battery life :(

not a problem if you're gonna be around an outlet a lot though.

if you want my honest recommendation, i'd honestly go for the mac pro despite all i've said above. you'll love the retina display and you can spend that extra $2k on something else. i have absolutely done no reading on thunderbolt storage, so if you're interested in that, i'd probably take it as long as the iMac has specs that can handle the workload you're going to be putting on it.
