I'll stick with mah Blockland thankaverymuch!
well it wouldn't hurt to try Lego Universe as-well, i think blockland and LU will be very different and unique in a verity of ways.
im gonna try it, and if i think its more fun.."i doubt i will think its any better than this :P" i will still continue to play Blockland b/c LU will mostly consist of younger children playing... in my experience ive noticed that 10> have played with legos in person, but ive seen older audiences play with lego's digital lego studio.
if that makes any sense basically im saying that ill stick with BL but ill try LU

Re-edited Wikipedia properly, keeping Blockland in mention. Cited a source, too!

I found a link to this on the Blockland wiki:

Free Play: Blockland
Kevin P. has another free game worthy of your time. Blockland is a non-competitive multiplayer game where you build with interconnecting bricks. Yes, it’s kind of like 3D team Lego. Unfortunately, you can’t actually save your creations (yet)–though you can destroy people’s buildings. “It's fun, free, and it will be featured in a future LAN Party, so you'd better brush up on your building skills,” said Kevin P. So download it now at www.ageoftime.com/blockland.

WTF?

Lego isn't stealing anything, in my opinion. Lego, to me, is like the mother of Blockland! Without Lego, I don't see how Badspot (or who ever made the original Blockland) could have made the idea of studded bricks fitting together to make buildings. (If there is some kind of related toy that came before Lego, I'm not aware of it.)

Yes, I know that was off topic from the conversation.

As of 'Lego Universe', I'm not sure what to say about that! They could have copied the idea, but I guess we'll never know. It's not like Lego would admit to stealing the idea in the first place, though.

Lego Universe is an online RPG btw...

I think blockland is the best game ive ever played but lego universe may be better we dont know but i just think mabye ill like lego universe better than blockland becoase i love to buy legos and build them.and there isnt really blocks you can buy at a stor.who knows blockland may be better than lego universe. i just think ill like lego universe more becouse ive heard more about legos than blocks.

Im sorry, i overreacted also. I just dont want LU to be like blockland. I hope you are right about the mmorpg deal too. Also chexguy we aren't stupid,  we just don't want anyone to take away from blockland. Also,

Guy 1: Oh snap, a brick-building game that looks like Lego!
Guy 2: Z0M9, th3y steel t3h blocklands ideazzzz!!!!!111one
That was a very stupid response.

The loyal Blocklanders would stay, but people like you I wouldn't mind to see gone.

I havent even been around blockland for a half a year but I do not know what I have done to piss you off. You need to calm down man. I haven't done anything to you. Also when I said that chex had a stupid response that was very logical because he was spazzing out when he said that. Actually I am a loyal blocklander, I would never leave blockland. Also, LU looks like a game that would appeal to a 5 year old, ill probably never play it. So next time you should have some reasoning when you say something like that.

I shall buy legos still , but I say that we raid there game and or fourms , it would only be fair .
leave the raiding to the *chans
and there will be LIMITED FUCKING building in lego universe, i've already told my friends about it and they arent getting it

And why are the *chans always looked down upon as the "omega l33t internet raiders"? I like a good laugh or two, but that doesn't mean it has to come from the *chans deciding to raid some random forum or other useless place. In fact, raiding is actually looked down upon by the *chans because most raids attract newcigarettes.
i know about most of it and i prolly need to lurk more, but still anon. is still fairly strong, depending

i read what peaple said and i didnt say i was going to like it more i might i dont know yet. I heard you can do backflips and go to space and be a pizza guy. i think it has live chat also. build you house, fight enimies and alot of pther cool stuff. I think it will be cool.

I only read the first few replies, so if I miss something, oh well:
No, I don't think LEGO is robbing Badspot. If anything, Badspot is robbing LEGO. I mean, a LEGO MMO isn't that amazing of an idea - and Universe isn't going to be ANYTHING like Blockland. As of now, it looks like you can't even build anywhere you want. They have little "workshop" things. I mean, with LEGO making video games now (they've made what? At least 4, with 2 on the way this year, Indiana Jones and Batman) it's no surprise at all they're making an MMO. And since when did Badspot ask LEGO to endorse Blockland? Even if he did, this is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR from stealing Badspot's idea. So you freaks who think this is robbing need to rethink it. Universe is going to be NOTHING like Blockland.

Not really building... but just using lego looking charactors to play an action game that's been made a thousand times before.

= lego brand games

You do realise that Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, right? It was likely someone from here who put that in the article. The sentence in question isn't very well written either, "the maker of Blockland"? Also, look at the link next to it in the article, it only goes back to the main page of this site. There are no sources or articles linked to confirm any of the claims made in there at all.
did you see te trailer the game is real

You do realise that I was talking about someone putting in only that one sentence, and not the entire LEGO universe article, right?

Of course I know the game is real you clutz.

That trailer isn't in-game, that was just design concepts.
