when those who returned the NDAs arrive in Harnosand, they are directed to a school where the cafeteria has been set up with a bunch of beds with visor-equipped helmets on them. They are waved into an auditorium by Swedish soldiers and police providing security for the event. There's no press there, since it's a somewhat exclusive technical demo.
A man walks up onto the stage, he's wearing a microphone headset that is connected to the auditorium's speakers wirelessly. There is a screen behind him that will show a translated version of his speech as he talks.
"Today, I will be introducing you to the AEGIS Virtual Reality interface system, it is used to access 'Enigma,' which all of you are probably aware of. Let me give you some more information- Enigma will be the world's first commercially available program to utilize the AEGIS system."
He walks up to a box on stage and pulls out a semi-transparent black visor, with a small processing unit hooked up it.
"It doesn't look like much, and it's intended to be that way, because the system interfaces with your brain- which is why we had you sign those nondisclosure agreements. The small demo we are showing you today will take place in the Serbian countryside."
The audience is finally led to the cafeteria after the short introduction, individual people are shown how to use the system and trigger the voice command to activate it. Doctors are on their tablets to check the vitals of everyone using the headsets.
Each person is able to spend a short amount of time customizing their character and learning how to utilize the basics of the system with the tutorial, including the menu logout and internet access functions. Everyone is divided into teams based on nationality for the ease of communication, and each team gets a human guide, which are Swedish personnel. The technical demos cycle through a gun battle with Serbian troops, a simple tour in a town to demonstrate the highly-complex details in the game- one notable example of this being where a guide chopped a log into pieces with an axe and the pieces were still there by the time the next group was rotated around to the village demo. The third demo was a replica of Harnosand, and the last demo was to show off the detail of some fictional and real military hardware- perfectly accurate working replicas of tanks, planes, and some common cars. The pain modifier was reduced to 25% so that a gunshot would only feel like a sting and not a life-threatening wound, though everyone was resurrected at the end of each demo.
After the demonstrations are over, everyone is flown back to their countries, knowing that word of the system will be definitely leaked.
