you honestly think you can just magically poof more oil reserve and oil taps in your country without public approval and just magically drive it back down

are you like, teleporting magic oil tankers in or something
I don't think you understand that America already does this.

*open* in the way that I make a deal with companies to increase production and lower prices in return for taxes being lowered and subsidies for a period of time.

Yeah, in 2015, after Saudis dropped the oil price. You can't just "relieve" oil at will. The Middle East, especially Arabia, controls oil for a reason. We have a lot of it. If we raise the oil price you will feel it regardless of you and your sorcerer's oil.

Do you think I am stupid?

I can do this.

Are you joking? Are you disputing the fact that Saudi Arabia, the world's leader in oil production, can't mess with prices at will? Or that you can drill and refine enough oil to change that instantly?

Building that infrastructure and overcoming the oil deficit would take years. Years.

the US does have loads of oil in reserve

the US does have loads of oil in reserve

I recognise that the US would be able to become an oil power after some time. Not in two days.

no like literally in reserve
huge tanks in case of emergency
hundreds of millions of barrels of oil

that's sustainable for about a month

and now you have no emergency oil

congratulations

"This equates to about 37 days of oil at 2013 daily US consumption levels of 18.49 million barrels per day (2,940,000 m3/d)[2] or 70 days at 2013 daily US import levels of 9.859 million barrels per day (1,567,500 m3/d)." - Source

May I also mention this is just crude oil, not refined.

Japan votes yes , The ethnicity of Austria and Germany are similar

oil plants can't just up and over their production speeds

I don't know what to say with the reserves though

so if they use some of that while still buying some from you and other countries, they can lower prices significantly

the united kingdom votes no

it still needs to be refined, and "significantly" isn't a good word

oil prices affect people elsewhere too

anyone buying oil that is refined or drilled in saudi arabia (aka a lot) is going to be feeling it too

higher oil prices make other people nervous about their own oil

additionally, you're going to be spending more on the oil you're now buying elsewhere, even marginally. you're going to have to sell it for more or tank the loss

plus, the US oil reserves can last for a month or at the most, two. the price increase isn't aimed to be temporary; strategic oil reserves are

The UN proposal does not pass. Next proposal goes to the United Kingdom.

Canada offers relief oil to the US.
