Autoworld is a project being developed by me and BluetoothBoy, it will be a game which will have several maps to drive around, with places to visit and missions to do, more information will be posted here.

Oh look! Something new!

This is a continuation to the other topic, but now mainly focused on the actual game and not on the prototype that was before

If you want to keep up to date with new content about this game, feel free to follow our tumblr page!

Stunt City, a WIP map.

that's a lot of grain
but the map itself looks nice

Awesome! Is there going to be a beta for people to try out?

that name sounds familiar

a few questions:
  • will cars have customization, and if you need to buy them, how would you earn money?
  • if the game isn't free how much will it cost
  • will you be able to exit the cars
  • will there be physics in the cars, i.e., if you get rammed into will there be a dent?
i also did not get to respond to the 'bodies' thing but a jeep wrangler type body would be cool

I can't real do anything to help with modeling and coding (yet) but can I help design maps and story?

  • will cars have customization, and if you need to buy them, how would you earn money?
Yes, and we plan to add in-game money where you will earn it by winning races and doing missions
  • if the game isn't free how much will it cost
Depends if it will get enough recognition and support.
  • will you be able to exit the cars
No.
  • will there be physics in the cars, i.e., if you get rammed into will there be a dent?
No words about this yet.

Awesome! Is there going to be a beta for people to try out?
Not sure yet.

Will first person be a thing?

Will first person be a thing?
There will be different types of camera options yes.

After we get word on physics (if it's possible/you want to do it), could this possibly be like Burnout Paradise racing and stunts?

  • will there be physics in the cars, i.e., if you get rammed into will there be a dent?

While softbody models are cool, they tend to cause games to lag a lot, for example Beam.NG.

I support this. Will be following this thread.

good luck, you'll definetly need it if you're doing an open world game
