Author Topic: is there /any/ good alternative to skype?  (Read 1422 times)

I've tried Tox, I don't like the interface. I don't like teamspeak and its kinda hard to explain why. I don't like having to tell people to join a server and instead of just calling them up.
Any good alternative? I haven't tried mumble.

XBOX Live is a great alternative when your in a party

I actually dont know what its audio quality is like, never used it for actual "calling" before

curse voice is great
it's like teamspeak in that there are servers, but it's hosted by them and abstracted away
it's like Skype in that you just call people/add people to call
you can invite people through a link or through a friends list

Voxeet

Telegram
Bistri

A few that popped out of my head. Overall, Voxeet is my favorite application.

NVM forgot that you didn't like tox

Maybe first you could say why you don't like Skype?

Then people could properly suggest things, by avoiding things with the features you don't like

Well, if you don't like Skype or Teamspeak there aren't many other great suggestions. I'd say try Steam voice chat or possibly Curse. Maybe even Ventrillo, never used it though. I personally think Skype is fine for 4 or less people and Teamspeak is fine for like 4-15.
