Author Topic: What is one thing you regret from when you were younger?  (Read 2960 times)

I regret not putting more effort in, I have just recently realized how stuffty the brains of others are when it comes to testing. Usually, I'll get an A or B on a test without studying, while someone who spent an hour the previous day studying will struggle to get a C. I put almost no effort into any of my school work, leading to passing each grade by increasingly smaller amounts. I passed 8th grade by ONE point on my science final.

I also regret not taking the many opportunities that have presented themselves to me. Social or otherwise, I'm always too hesitant to take an opportunity.

I also don't understand how some schools say that making a finger gun is a threatening expression. I've seen a few people get detentions for doing so.

That sounds really horrible and upsetting to have gone through all that. I'm really sorry for you that it happened.

I really am glad that there isn't such a gun-focussed culture here in the UK, because I know that those similar sort of over-reactions would happen a lot more here too.
And God knows I'd have been in trouble a billion times for drawing pictures of guns (little stick-figure ones), pretending my hands were guns, or just anything else really. And I'm sure all my friends would've too.
also holy stuff

that's awful
the other awful part about it was i got suspended for a week for that, but another boy (a popular one) wore a tshirt covered in a gun silhouette pattern for two days in a row. the second day he wore it was at an awards assembly, where he was in front of all of the school and a ton of parents. he didn't get in any trouble for it at all, even when my mom took pictures of him wearing it and showed it to the principal and the counselor.

burn the school down

I regret giving one of my friends a carrot in grade 5.
We were eating before going outside for lunch and someone had given me a carrot that I didn't want, so I gave it to my friend. My friend and another student did't get along very well and hated eachother, so my friend decided to put the carrot down his shirt. This led to them throwing chairs across the classroom at eachother so I left to get a teacher. After lunch had ended the vice principal was there and she gave the 3 of us a weeks detention. She said I was included because I didn't break them up, and apparently getting a teacher to stop them still counts as being a bystander. After school that day I told my mum about it, and she phoned the principal the next day. The principal agreed that I shouldn't have been given the detention, but she couldn't override the vice principal's decisions on that day because she (the principal) was away and the vice principal was in charge. Their lucky my dad was away for work when this happened...

Basically I got a weeks detention and ruined my shcool record because I gave someone a carrot.

The same vice principal left my name out of the school graduation hoodie for no apparent reason as well.

Not banging enough sluts.

what a bitch

drawing stick figures with guns (the L ones) back in 4th grade. i got suspended for a week because of it and i'm still afraid of adults (like i'll cry if i try to have serious talks w/ adults and it's mostly bc of this incident) bc of the principal and dean screaming at me threatening to take me to court for making "threats." when i came back, apparently the story had become that i hid a rifle in my binder and was going to shoot up the school and they had to call the cops in to give me a pat down. it's still brought up every now and then and i know it's probably plaguing my school record.

it's the incident that made my parents start homeschooling me. i was told that the principal and dean of that school were fired by the school board the next year, but i can't remember what for. a year or two later they completely changed the school from charter to a STEM school.

stuff man if romania was like that i'd probably be executed for treason, terrorism and breaking the geneva convention for all the cool-ass weaponry i've drawn over the years

really sucks to hear that. sorry for ya man.
