Lawyer, those were Doven's original colors, you silly.

Oh yeah....

Anyways how do I start?

Start doing things.  Basically everything short of the rules and being unrealistic is fair game.  You want a trade route?  Send an envoy to request a trade route.

K. First Doven actions!

Send an envoy to N'awali, Espovon, Vlast, and Burellis with gifts and open arms, announcing the uprising of Doven! Begin building underground facilities into mountains. Begin construction on a large cruise ship capable of missionary and war. Prepare a standard army in case of any minor threats.

Are there anything I can research? Or do I think of stuff and start researching that as I go on?

LARGE SNIP

wow sorry i forgot i had to check this

(ok im guessing that noa and tacz withdrew from the naval/ground battles, so im gonna roll with that unless told otherwise)

kyrev says "hmm no" to peace offers after a rousing rally and speech from the king, which brought much public approval to the war "against the savages" as it is billed, telling noast and tacz that they can either accept total annexation (while maintaining their own leaders, but accepting kyrevan laws, currency, etc) or they will perish

as winter approaches, kyrevan infantry dig in along the border and construct temporary encampments, while the kyrevan royal navy patrols the waters around the coast. kyrevan diplomats use the political upheaval to encourage the tribes that make up noast and tacz to renounce their allegiance to the other bickering and weak tribes and accept the warm and loving embrace of the stronk kyrevan empire

Well for one, they didn't in any way withdraw.

Two, they hardly see hardlined imperialism and cultural destruction as a warming embrace.

Three, they rest technologically at very similar levels, socially at similar levels, and are racially European white, so calling them savages would be pretty inappropriate.

Four, the infantry of 45,000 manage to fight off the group taking shelter in the forest, but remain decimated, with only 200 men able to fight.  This group is ordered to hold this position as best they can before reinforcements of 20,000 arrive.  A shipment of large strange jars is delivered to the forest.  These jars are spread out in the forest, and are guarded by 7 men each, with shifts changing every two hours.

The artillery backup arrives, 40 pieces in all, and they attempt to set up at the south hill where infantry is now being more strongly diverted.

The fog clears at sea and the Kyrevian navy has been surrounded by the Noaste Navy, which appears to be, as predicted, equal in size.  The Noaste immediately begin firing inwards.

i... what

1) they both offered peace but now they want to fight (????????)

2) there is no cultural destruction. they can practice whatever strange voodoo love magic they want, as long as they say "yeah, those kyrevans are pretty dope" and use our money leaves

3) propaganda

4) when did you get 45,000 infantry, you sent 6,000 men and 1,000 horses that way

5) ok

6) ok calling you out right now. a bunch of tribes, several of which may not have strong dockyards (those were important), are able to produce the same amount of ships as me, a civilized nation, who has 20ish ships of the line? and command them under a single leader effectively? and somehow figure out exactly where my navy is, while i couldn't tell where i was or where they were?

if this is so i would like 4 ironclads and 8 extra 86-gun second rates
how?

Okay how about this.  I void the navy to half of what it is, you void the 1000 artillery pieces, since mass production isn't a thing yet.  Slash it back to like 350.

Infantry at the bottom of this post within your quote.

They wouldn't withdraw unless peace was agreed upon.

Furthermore read the short descriptions so you know what you're talking about concerning technology and organization.

snip

1) agree, i botched my numbers due to a very poor article

2) 45,000 of your infantry split off to go north, away from the battlefield? i had specifically engaged the noaste messengers so that they wouldn't be able to tell the tacz that they were being attacked by the men in the forest. the sounds and scenes of that firefight would have been drowned out by the current, larger fight between the main armies and the heavy forest and elevation of the hill. some quotes

Meanwhile, a Noaste force of 6,000 and 500 cavalry marching northward to reinforce the Tacza force from the North meets the hidden Kyrevan force in the forest, and begin to engage them after a few of the Kyrevan sharpshooters heard them coming, and shot at the vanguard forces, killing 30 of them before they could react.

to which i responded with

The hidden Kyrevan force in the forest spreads out to combat the Noaste force, splitting into small groups and popping in and out of the heavy brush and forest, making it appear as though they were a much larger force than they actually are. The cavalry are largely useless, dismounting their horses and hiding. Kyrevan men in the forest and on the hill are ordered to eliminate any Noaste messengers.

you didn't reply to this afterwards, until

Four, the infantry of 45,000 manage to fight off the group taking shelter in the forest, but remain decimated, with only 200 men able to fight.  This group is ordered to hold this position as best they can before reinforcements of 20,000 arrive.  A shipment of large strange jars is delivered to the forest.  These jars are spread out in the forest, and are guarded by 7 men each, with shifts changing every two hours.

ok, so your original quote about the 45,000, "Kyrevian intelligence reports back to the hills that indicates that a large force of 45,000 split into five divisions is headed towards their location," which was responding to my main hill preparing a defense. the men in the forest are on a hill across the river, effectively on your side, and are attempting to remain hidden. additionally, you mention in this quote that the 45,000 break into 5 divisions, but the quote above seems to say they all crash into one place. this would mean that 5,000 average joe kyrevan linemen hidden in the brush killed or wounded all but 200 men, which, i mean, is an impressive feat for us and an embarrassing loss for you, but probably not what you were intending

whew, if you're still reading, that should be the end of wordwalls.

3) no, but i would expect that the men or the generals would be a little cowed or maybe a little angry and reluctant to fight if their government had requested peace while they were fighting

4) the last part was a joke

I remember you saying that you had a large group mentioned there.  I will reassess it and get back to you.

On the Floor of the Duma

Foreign Intelligence Act
[FIntA]

An act, to create the Ministry of Foreign Intelligence, a ministry that will create an espionage wing of the government.

Naval Power Exansion Act
[NavaPEx]

A legislation to expand funding of naval forces, to allow a build up of naval power, and to establish a base on the island south of Vlast. This is coordinated by the Ministry of Defenses' Naval Orgburo, and proposed as a draft to Novi Kiska, who then sent it to the Duma for approval.

Would my envoys reach by now?

Where's your country on the map even

The parliamentary committee assigned to the issue of trade with Burrelis advises parliament to vote in favor of it.  Parliament takes it into account and slight tariff measures are established on manufactured goods, with even slighter taxes on foods, raw materials, and non-manufactured goods; the tariff is set to match anything above it that Burrelis may set on Teleri goods.

The parliament also passes the Wissenschaftliche Geheimhaltungsgesetz (Scientific Secrecy Act), designed to strongly discourage the spread of scientific or technological information or knowledgeable workers to any nation that it is believed will pose a threat to the military, economic, or political security of Telar, and to encourage such knowledge and workers to enter into Telar.

Finta and Navapex pass the Duma. The Orgburo Navy receives the extra resources it needs and plans the construction of five new Ships of the Line, and eight new Man-o-War's. The island to the south of Vlast has been claimed. Three regiments of infantry and one regiment of light cavalry are sent to assume control. They are sent alongside military engineers.

New to the Duma floor:

Domestic Industry Protection Act
An act to raise tariffs and lower export taxes. This act is sponsored by many capitalists. It is expected to pass.

The Burellian Navy withdraws from its surveillance of the Noaste Navy, seeing that it wasn't welcome at the battle.

Preparations begin for an exploration of the far world, hoping to discover rich resources and new lands.
