Author Topic: Help me upgrade my graphics, forums  (Read 1105 times)

For the upcoming GTA V, I want to upgrade my graphics. I didn't get as much FPS as I was expecting from this computer (idk what i was expecting), so I figured I'd install a dedicated graphics card instead of using the APU.

First off, here's what I want:
http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Dual-Link-Graphics-02G-P4-2966-KR/dp/B00SC6HAS4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1428812260&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+960
Is this any good? Will it run GTA V on good specs at a good frame rate? Does it have HDMI support?
I know stuff about graphics cards, but it has 5 stars, so I'm assuming it's really good.
If it's bad, can you recommend me a card under $300?

Second, do I need anything special to use to install it, other than the anti-static band?
My motherboard is an Acer Aspire TC-120 (P0) (well this is what speccy says)

some other motherboard stuff below:
Motherboard brand is AMD, and here's some other stuff Acer threw at me:
MB KIT TC-120 AMD A78 RTK 8111GS UATX W/O 1394 LF CANT MEET 8.5L CHASSIS.
Supports DDR3 1.5V or DDR3L 1.35V SoDIMMs.

i'm sorry for so many topics, i'm just really upset i'm missing out on a lot of features of today's games

Along with a new graphics card, you're most likely going to need a new processor, which means you'll need a new motherboard, and you'll probably want a better PSU to support it.
just getting the graphics card will bottleneck you like stuff and you'll see terrible performance

you have a prebuilt I highly doubt you'll even fit that card in your case

You have a 220w power supply according to Asus, so you basically won't be able to upgrade the graphics at all.

You're better off selling your current computer as scrap metal and building a new one.
