admittedly i could've expressed it differently, what i am trying to say is that you are a single person with a certain set of interests in a country that has a population of hundreds of millions of people. a lot of the people here who are demonizing alcohol have never before been in a situation where it would be useful to them.

Also if you're not really on any sort of substance, parties are boring (at least in my opinion)... Loud music, sticky floors, long bathroom queues, would prefer to just have a small gathering with people I know now

The legal drinking age is pretty much just a prospect of the prohibition, and 21 is an arbitrary age. I'm not against the drinking age being dropped to 18, I don't exactly see any problems that it'll introduce beyond a handful of people getting heated up over nothing.

The problem is that in order for the legal drinking age to be dropped, there has to be a majority agreement to drop it; do you think that will happen?

IIRC in the USA the drinking age was only raised to 21 as a deal to receive greater funding for highways (?) which doesn't exactly reflect the opinion of the people living in the USA. If we built better public transportation and we had stricter driver education then I think it would work better as it has worked in Australia.
