As long as you host it publicly it's possible to steal the model.

Through the cache?

Yep.

Hmm.  There has to be a way around that.  An auto-launchable hidden executable that deletes vital parts of the addon when the wrong IP address is found when Blockland launches?

that would be a) dangerous and unethical, b) impossible, c) childish and silly

ofc i may be biased considering i don't believe that, in most cases, private add-ons are really a good practice in the context of blockland; i personally believe that any mod which isn't potentially "dangerous" or something is best made public at some point, because the game essentially runs on the back of user-generated content, and the more tools and resources that are available for people to do that, the better. not that i look down on people that have private mods, that's just my personal agenda

ONTOPIC: What should this be implemented on? The default tank? Or Pompmaker2's tanks?

Lets just hope Blockland doesn't get Steam workshop, payed addons incoming.

And then we all downloaded Blender and made our own addons whilst stealing others from the cache.

Pomp's tanks.

Maybe both

badspot would have to make an agreement with valve for paid mods

aside from that, there are a lot of considerations to be made just opening the workshop for mods

Armor mechanics won't work. They can't, unless you want your game to freeze up every 10th of a second.
For that to work, you'd have to have a constant "check" on the armor angle and slope. Where the shell is coming from? How fast is it going? What is the armor thickness (in mm).

Blockland, no, torque itself isn't quite equipped to handle calculations of that magnitude while being able to constantly send information back to the server which players are playing on.

you wouldn't; you could solve it using the normal of the face hit

the shell dynamics wouldn't be a problem either probably

what? are you mad? why would you need a loop to check for nonexistent shells? why do you need to check every 10th of a second how thick the armor is?

why not just check all this stuff when a projectile impacts?

you want a successful calculation, don't you?

ya but that doesn't require keeping constant metrics, because all that matters are the ones when it hits
