Author Topic: school food rant  (Read 1763 times)

this is mainly with poorer schools i think
my school served my favorite meal, chicken and dumplings, and just the smell made me want to loving puke

the food at my school is stuff

and the school is rich

When I was in school I didn't understand the complaint people had, the food was just as good as what I ate at home.
Then I realized that was cuz my mom sucked at cooking.
I've since started doing the cooking

I don't like eating anything in school at all let alone their food

I actually like my school's food.

Then I realized that was cuz my mom sucked at cooking.
I've since started doing the cooking

Funny thing is that I know how to cook more than my sister...

My school has started using wheat TORTILLAS
COME ON!!!

And the "Honey Rib Sandwich" is faux beef on a wheat bun and the Honey rib part is about one inch squared
add a milk and two "Sides" all of which are either fruit, vegetable or the occasional baked beans ( which they put in shot glass size cups now instead of letting you serve yourself ( each cup counts as a side) so its a tiny sandwich plus a milk and either two fruit and veggies or enough baked beans to feed a rat for $3.00!

the salad bar is another deal!
they serve you the plate full of lettuce
after which they give you the "Bar" part which consists of shot glass cups full of ham, hard boiled eggs, peas, crasins, cheese, or spinach, you can only have two and you cant buy the salad unless you have the toppings still in the cups when you reach the register and again two more "sides" and a milk for 3.00$!

they also have yogurt bar on Mondays
a cup full of yogurt with two toppings, same deal as above
IT DOESNT FILL YOU UP

the last thing that pisses me off is the school cant sell anything the state considers "junk food" during school, so even all the vending machines have either stuff food or tiny portions, in other words at my school you end up emptying your wallet and not filling up your stomach by either buying a forgetton of their stuff food and still being hungry and having to buy from vending machines later and still get tiny portions, or you leave school and go a local restauraunt but the catch to that is you have to schedule this 3 days ahead of time! If I forget to make or don't have time to make my own lunch in the morning which I gave up and started doing last year I'm FORCED to buy their food, im a prisoner of a monopoly that charges insane prices for not enough food

rant over, continue

Your profile says you're 17. Why don't you just pack your lunch the night before or go pick up something instead? Pretty sure high schools let all non-freshman out of school for lunch.

as said I do pack a lunch, I complain for justice, not for my own gain, all the people that don't are getting forgeted

as I also said to go out of school for lunch you have to get a waiver from the office on day one, have your parents sign it and bring it back on day two and then you can go on day three
I cant just leave, I'm under the state's care!

actually, my school's lunches taste pretty good. the obvious exceptions are the wrinkled hot dogs and corn dogs.

My school had a deli line and fairly decent standard lunches. Loved that ham salad on pumpernickel every two weeks yo

Some things suck about Michigan
Road salt and school lunches are my two biggest gripes

Maybe in Ohio it tastes better and the government isn't so far up your ass about what you can and cant eat
