"But women"
Are you honestly telling me if you saw a man wearing a dress you wouldn't do a double take?
i don't want to get involved with this discussion as a whole but that thing about wearing dresses usually stems from society's condemnation of men not acting masculine, often from other men, etc. etc.

also yes, i would, but that's because i grew up in a place that shunned that sort of thing, and since childhood i've been ingrained with that in my mind. but because (i hope) i'm more mature now i really wouldn't care at all.

Are you honestly telling me if you saw a man wearing a dress you wouldn't do a double take?
"doing a double take" and thinking it matters are two very different things
no matter how much you're into social justice and equality and whatever, you're undoubtedly more used to seeing guys and girls wearing their usual clothing styles
and at that point it's pretty much involuntary to check again and be sure you saw what you think you did. have you ever seen something odd, and managed to just ignore it?

I would, simply because it's not normal. I'd be proud of him for saying "forget you" to gender roles and forced masculinity.

maybe we should all just wear gray, cotton jumpsuits.

So what about a man being forced to pay a check on a date? Or holding a door for a girl?

maybe we should all just wear gray, cotton jumpsuits.
I'm down with that, man.

doesn't happen
Or holding a door for a girl?
if you let a door shut on anyone you're a rooster

So what about a man being forced to pay a check on a date? Or holding a door for a girl?
So, like, you don't hold the door for other people, regardless if they're male or female? Holding the door for somebody else is called common decency, and it doesn't matter if the person is male of female.

Also, where did you get the "man being forced to pay a check on a date" thing? Most of the time I just hear of people either splitting the bill or just getting something so cheap it doesn't matter who pays.

maybe we should all just wear gray, cotton jumpsuits.
Yes and we can make them look like space suits with shiny white stripes. Or we could not have clothes at all B)

That kind of goes with my point. Those are all nice things, but i don't deem them necessary. I believe whoever is taking the person on the date should pay, or whoever asked for the date. Or maybe splitting the bill, whatever works. As far as holding a door, you should doth at for everyone honestly.

holding a door for anyone is just being nice yo

I'm down with that, man.

maybe the rich people can get teal jumpsuits. maybe

maybe we should all just wear gray, cotton jumpsuits.

Reminds me of a Fairly Odd Parents episode...
