Author Topic: Low GPU/CPU intensive free games?  (Read 3232 times)

considering you're running windows stuffsta, have a pentium-tier processor, and integrated graphics, just go off the assumption your computer is pretty weak. just look for low-spec games.

protip: try running games at a lower resolution

why is vista bad again?

Because it's terrible in pretty much every regard, from performance to aesthetics.

it's got performance issues? how much better does 7 run in comparison?

cuz I've got a copy I could use

Well, for one 7 has lower system requirements than Vista.

what? are you saying you're using vista, despite having a copy of windows 7?

When I used vista it crashed constantly and was an absolute failure.

How did this become a conversation about vista?

I got it recently but I didn't want to bother installing it just yet

http://itch.io/ has tons of fun little games to find, most of them not requiring much power.

It's pretty relevant, considering how much of an impact a stuffty OS can have on a game's performance.

it's not free, but have you tried shrek superslam?

try playing some 1990's-2000's games like doom, duke nukem, Max Payne 1, The sims 1, simcity 3000 or 4 (not sure if 4 will run well), rise of nations extended edition, age of empires, GTA III Vice city and even SA.

If I were to pick from the above then I would have to sort it out:

Biggest most fun time waster: The sims 1
Biggest time waster but serious achievements you wish to accomplish: Rise of nations gold
Best campaign: Max Payne 1

Max Payne 1 has some start and audio issues that are fixable but gta III and vice city have the "Unhanded exception" error so you need to be a bit careful when playing these old games

For the record I am running Windows 7. I don't really have a preference for games really.
