I breathe a sigh of relief. We return to the tent shortly after the drill is done to play some poker for a beautiful switchblade we found yesterday.

I put a cigarette in my mouth and light it. Slowly, I reload my rifle, pick it up, and aim it in tuxedo man's face and kick him in the leg.

"WAKE UP YA GEDDEMN PENGUIN"

Camp Grayling applauds you on your progress.

The police officer points out ideal positions for fortification.

The places are noted. Marcus takes 8 men with him by Blackhawk to check out the Coast Guard dockyard in Cheboygan.

When they arrive they are welcomed by the Coast Guard detachment there. There are 14 men left, the rest having deserted. About 6 of them look fit to serve as soldiers, the rest are seasoned sailors. In the dockyard they have 3 working gunboats and another one needing a new engine, along with various transport and sailing boats. Marcus suggests they combine their numbers and move the Coast Guard center of command in Lake Michigan to Mackinaw Island.

Your squad's designated marksman, Jerry, wins the switchblade.

"WAKE UP YA GEDDEMN PENGUIN"

"HOLY stuff! I SURRENDER!"

Tuxedo-man panics and flails his arms in an attempt to raise them, burdened by the fact that he was nodding off to sleep moments ago.

"forgetin' rigged," I say, jokingly. A couple of hours later we approach one of our superiors for a task.

it would be cool if this was experiencing the same events as the nation rp topic

like if somebody does something to the USA in the topic, it would happen here

it would be cool if this was experiencing the same events as the nation rp topic

like if somebody does something to the USA in the topic, it would happen here
and vice versa
like say a faction grabs some land here and it happens there too

I wake up in the basement of a casino.
"Maaan, what the forget happened?"

They approve of your suggestion.

Marcus returns by helicopter with the soldiers while the Coast Guard take their men to Haldimand Bay with their three boats. They also bring two transport boats and a high speed patrol boat.

The fourth boat is unable to be repaired and is thus scuttled to prevent anyone from looting her.

Including him, their number now stands at 30. He then reports his progress back to Camp Grayling.

With the entirety of the Guard division together, Marcus takes to making fortifications, starting on the island. The dockyards and sheltered bay are fortified with scrap wood and metal. The lighthouse, the entrance of the bay, stands as an excellent guard post, and he has it fortified as well, with a 3 man watch there at all times.

The temporary lodgings at the airfield are expanded, and one disused hangar is converted into the command center and barracks. Marcus also plans to construct a proper command center at Fort Holmes, but until the supplies for proper buildings are obtained, this is impossible to do.

I head over to the city to do some daily looting. I mainly check the stores- food and water might be running low, as it always is, so its possible some stuff from them could help.

Alright, if I can't be a creature.. that should have been in the main post, to avoid confusion.

Also, list in the main post what major factions there are.

Atleast tell me the NCR exist, so I can at least hunt for some of that Elite Riot Gear.

I looked up at the man with a daze, emerging from a dream of a better time, when my city was young and the technological capital it was, and my family in the suburbs with mother's freshly baked bread on sundays after church, i did my best to get up but i was extremely disorientated seeing almost triple his figure as vision was impaired but restored after a faint ringing sound and an even brighter light

"What's your name" asks the man

I began to sign to him hoping he'd understand me, it wasn't that I was rude, I was born without a tongue, but as was good for i could cross no one with my words

I spelled out with the absence of two fingers in american sign language "M-A-R-K-U-S", being too weak, i fell back down

California is under chinese control, so... no. The brunt of this RP is based off of lore from Nonnel's nation RP.

I plan to do this. Unfortunately, the nation RP is approx. a season a day, whereas this is only about... yeah, a day per day, give or take.

Camp Grayling reports that they've recently made a deal with some civilians and are now acquiring a nice amount of cement. You can get a split of it, if necessary.

I head over to the city to do some daily looting. I mainly check the stores- food and water might be running low, as it always is, so its possible some stuff from them could help.

You find three cases of bottled water, 3 chip bags, a chocolate bar, and 12 cans of food.

You also find basic painkillers such as tylenol, and some medical gauze... after placing the gauze in your bag, you look up and through the pharmacy's glass entrance into the street. There's a group of men, all armed, following an SUV that's slowly leading them.

"forgetin' rigged," I say, jokingly. A couple of hours later we approach one of our superiors for a task.

"There's a group of deserters that have been loving with us ever since North Dakota became independent. We believe they're camping out in the hills a little north of here. As far as we know they're mostly privates, with little experience in gunfights besides their raids on civilians. I want your squad to deal with them. They don't have any armed vehicles, so your engineer won't have to do anything suicidal. Any questions?"

I wake up in the basement of a casino.
"Maaan, what the forget happened?"

A man who was opening an old keg of beer in the corner pipes up:

"I'm gonna go ahead and guess it went somethin' like this: The bombs dropped. You panicked, and headed here. You got wasted. You woke up in some hellhole in or nearby Las Vegas. You got wasted. Rinse and repeat."

I began to sign him hoping he'd understand me, it wasn't that I was rude, I was born without a tongue, but as was good for i could cross no one with my words

"Oh, uh, sorry. I forgot about your... oral dilemma. Sadly, I don't know sign. I'm guessing you can shake your head and not, though, so bear with me. I'm gonna state a letter, and if it's the next one in your name then I want you to nod. If it isn't, then shake your head. Alright?"

5 minutes later, the man has completed figuring out your name.

"Ah. So you're Markus. I'm Jacob. I hope you don't mind, but we had to, uh, pump you full of meds. You're gonna be weak and disoriented for a while, so it'd be best to get used to it. It was either that or leaving you to die of radiation poisoning, after all..."

"I'll go look for a bike, thanks."

I go outside the tent and look around the runway, tents and fuel tanks for a bike.

Camp Grayling reports that they've recently made a deal with some civilians and are now acquiring a nice amount of cement. You can get a split of it, if necessary.

Marcus accepts and suggests they fly it in via the airfield.

The fortifications are completed and Marcus begins laying out the foundation for the bigger picture: securing Mackinac, the land and lake around it, and the bridge. Little is needed to be done immediately, but getting good standing with the citizens will be necessary. Small groups of looters or hostile civilians roam around the countryside, and the immediate goal is constructing a fortified fencing just south of the city to wall them off from the southern part of the state. No small task.

While surveying the city and surrounding area, Marcus and 6 of his men come upon a group of 3 Saudi soldiers. They are unable to speak English, but luckily one of the men from Dearborn can translate. They don't seem friendly and won't say why they are there. One of the men suggests they take them prisoner.

Marcus agrees and his men quickly overpower them. They fly back to the island and interrogate them at the airfield.
