Author Topic: Americans choose Harriet Tubman to be on the $20 bill  (Read 48788 times)

i wouldnt mind dan quayle

i'm thinkin more and more we should put jesus on the bill am i right
But he existed a hundred or so years before we were born, so must not matter!!!1

i think you missed the point that it literally does not matter
Exactly. I don't give a stuff about the relocation of the tribes. It literally doesn't make a difference in my life today. I feel worse for the Vietnamese civilians the USA dropped napalm on than for the native americans 180 years later or however long it was.

Put her on the penny.
Arguably a better idea since Lincoln is already on the 5 dollar bill

the deaths in vietnam literally don't make a difference in your life today either

Things that don't matter:
- Roman history
- The invention of the printing press
- Colonizing the Americas
- Humans developing language
etc.
except the trail of tears didn't drastically change the world
sorry if i worded that wrong, but i was specifically referring to that.
the people who built the pyramids do not matter. the roman empire does not matter. slavery in the US does not matter. once the survivors are gone, the holocaust will not matter. if everyone it affected directly are gone, it does not effect us and does not matter.

isn't that what you try to avoid by paying attention in history class

oh wait nonnel didnt even know who harriet tubman was of course he hasnt paid attention in history
i know far more about history than you, i just don't focus on things that are boring or unimportant

monday this is how you repeat history

also how loving shortsighted do you have to be to think that slavery in the united states does not matter, the people who build the pyramids do not matter, and the ROMAN loving EMPIRE does not matter? almost the entirety of western culture has been influenced by roman history in some way, and to say that an understanding of the roman empire is not necessary is taking out a LAAARRRGGEEE chunk of the world's history, akin to ignoring the development of the han dynasty or the middle ages. please, do not be this dumb.

i see you only quoted things that happened recently
because those are all that matter to you because importance will fade because they don't matter

monday this is how you repeat history
not if you go by a general "don't be a richard to people" policy. world problems solved.

I'm going to have to disagree with you, the Holocaust had profound effects, such as the creation of Israel. And the actions of the Roman Empire had a deep effect on western civilization, such as developing a republic, and spreading Christianity

It seems you don't have an actual concept of cause and effect which is the basis of history and why people even bother learning it in the first place.
