Hence why the US is getting cited by 200 odd countries in the UN for human rights violations.

America should go back to our old ways, we've become too liberal as a society and that's killing us. During trials, terrorists should have no rights. They are not entitled to them.

Guantanamo Bay is also the famed home of plenty of convicted 'terrorists' who have never gone through any kind of due process to establish what crime they've even detained for.

It's like you're an expert at ignoring the entire picture and pretending like you know what you're talking about.

A small proportion of the inmates housed there have been accidentally placed there, I'm aware. Yeah you cant tell me that these terrorists housed there are deserving of being housed in more "humane" environments. When you visit Guantanamo and ask most of the inmates what they are jailed for, then come back to me and tell me with a straight face that these people are worthy of living in an actual cell.

Yeah, I like your philosophy here. Label someone as a 'terrorist' and then put them in a prison with no trial. That's definitely been done before, with great success.

It's funny you say that because there are some prisoners who, despite the failures of Guantanamo bay, have managed to submit petitions for habeas corpus. Here's an incomplete list of people who were imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay for charges that were later withdrawn after review. Some of these people were there for years.

Once again, you've confidently asserted yourself as an expert about something you know literally nothing about.

edit: Here's even more cases of people who have been freed from Guantanamo Bay after receiving due process

This list is practically just as long as the current number of inmates at Guantanamo Bay. 'Small proportion', right?

The government is supposed to protect and rehabilitate, not deliver retribution. He should have gotten life in prison.

2.) he should be excuted infront of millions of americans where the boston bombing happened
8th amendment bro

public executions are not cruel and unusual punishment

Everyone is literally children.

if you mean imprisoning people for their socialist political views and expressing criticism against the government during wars while firing government workers for taboos like being homoloveual in the name of national security is something you want to do, sure.

nono I think he's referring to the slavery days
jim crow era at the very least

I wonder if  Caribou was this angry about that soldier that massacred an entire village in Afghanistan. That guy was a terrorist too, but I never saw caribou advocating for his rights to be taken away. OH WAIT, TERRORISTS CAN ONLY BE MUSLIM GUYS WITH BEARDS WHO BLOW UP THINGS. I TOTALLY FORGOT.

caribou is a dumbstuff idk why people bother arguing with him anymore

I find it funny how a lot of you right-wing nutcases will cry and scream about how pure and holy the constitution and 2nd amendment is but then as soon as we bring up the UNMURICAN TERRURISTS the 8th amendment goes out the loving window. (ironically goes both ways though)

as much as I hate liberal crybabies, placing this kind of power in the government is just plain naive and ridiculous. what happens when your liberal president decides he wants to get rid of crackpot republicans (such as yourself) and throw you in jail for absolutely no reason? all he has to do is label you a terrorist, and now you suddenly have no rights. human rights are called human rights for a reason.

inb4 "terrorists aren't humans drrrrrrrrrrr where's my sippy cup"
