I hate this stuffty backwards attitude. Violent crime has been going steadily down since the 1940's. 100 years, or even 50 years ago stuff like this would've been just another drop in the bucket.

This graph is poorly made because it makes you think that the trend is significantly steeper than it actually is because the graph doesn't start at zero. Here's what it looks like (averaged out) when it actually starts at zero:



The data is still fine though.
