Space Engineers: stuck on a problem im trying to fix

I currently have a Medium Cargo Container on a small ship that I'm using, it is next to the fighter roosterpit and I can't find a way to actually transfer the items from my inventory to the cargo container while in the roosterpit, any ideas?

You can't transfer items unless there is a conveyor (tube or block) going from the roosterpit to the container. However I don't think that roosterpits can even be connected to containers through any way at all.
