I was going to bump the old thread weeks ago, but if was too old so rip. Anyway my favorite games are probably the classics and the handheld platformers. Also maybe SA that game was fun, I just couldn't get into SA2 though.

Finally someone who liked SA better than SA2

Finally someone who liked SA better than SA2
that was my opinion on it and it always has been u scrubsu

I really dont like sa2 that much

Finally someone who liked SA better than SA2
i like it too primarily because Shadow is a major forgetwad in like every game.

SA2 Shadow: "My friend Maria told me to make a promise. Guess she meant "nuke the world!!"
Heroes Shadow: "I have amnesia from the reincarnation process the fans told me to do, and now Rouge won't tell me jack stuff about my past. Minds of well shoot aliens."
Shadow... Shadow: "This alien told me to destroy the world, let's completely ignore him despite a multiple ending scenario and chaos control that forgeter."
'06 Shadow: "GUN told me that the job paid pretty good."
Boom Shadow: "Hey, Sonic! forget you!"
^^minds of well prove my point via quick edit

I'm actually in the process of 100%ing the Wii/PS2 version of Sonic Unleashed because I'm dumb.

Unleashed?
I never played it, but I heard that the night areas were stuff.
Do you find them tolerable?

When was the last time you guys played SA though? I was like "yeah i love SA it's gonna be just as good as i remember it back in 2002-ish" and then I replayed some of it for a play through. There are definitely some things that are, as Sonic himself has said, "no good!" such as camera work (i think sa2 kinda does it better but i think i've died less in sa2 than sa), wonky physics on occasion and enemy placement, along with those "i can't look without laughing at each character's face melting whilst not that great voice acting goes over it" cutscenes. There's definitely more age and dated-ness on SA than SA2, and there ain't no hinund p lemme tell u wat - although open your heart is probably more hype than live and learn and sans the cutscenes i think sa has a stronger story err

I never played it, but I heard that the night areas were stuff.
They're super slow, long, and repetitive in my opinion. I think Sonic games need the right kind of pacing and Sonic Unleashed doesn't get into that, especially because Chip is quite the nuisance, even more than Big I find.

Keep in mind I've only played the PS2 version of the game which is completely different from the PS3/360 versions which are essentially the true Sonic Unleashed.
In the PS2 game the werehog is extremely watered down in his moveset and simplified compared to its HD counterparts. The combat is mostly just button mashing with no skill involved and the platforming can be frustrating at times due to the sensitive controls making sonic dash accidentally in narrow areas, causing him to fall . Seriously the biggest threat as a werehog is bottomless pits. Otherwise the level design is okayish and the platforming, sensitive controls aside is okay. It's tolerable and I wouldn't call it stuff, but it's not the most fun thing in the world.

SA is flawed, but I still had my fun with it. I never had a problem with the camera and I never ran into any glitches. It's aged I can tell you that, but I still find it fun. It's no masterpiece, but it's a solid game in my opinion.

the only good modern sonic game was generations

the only good modern sonic game was generations
