Dwarf fortress is a part rouge like,realistic survival,top down,text adventure,RPG game. It is text graphics though,but you can change the graphics to different tile pallets to make it look better. The developer was made by Tarn Adams, and the publisher was Bay 12 Games it was released on August 8,2006. See the game here:

Its a very "unusual" game because it has so many buttons to press and so many things to do,and the combat is pretty realistic in the text,on screen its just a guy surrounded by red block pixels but as someone said "Graphics isn't what makes a game good." or, at least what i heard anyway. Edit:I forgot to add that I was playing with the lazy newb pack because it had adventure mode in it, the game itself might be different. But its still really good.
