INFORMATION REGARDING TOTAL WAR V2 [CONT.]

ON THE SUBJECT OF FAVOR
I'm gonna introduce something here known as Favor. Favor is how much a particular "Important NPC" likes a lesser nation. At the start of Total War v2, there exist 3 "Important NPCs": the Papal States, China, and India. Favor is a fairly straightforward system, so I'll try my best to keep this short (the Papal States is a special case of Favor however, so I'll talk about them later).

Joining Crusades or Jihads will lower your favor with China and India just as refusing to join them will increase it. Certain events or decisions will upset or please these nations as well, fluctuating your Favor as such. Why have Favor, you ask? Having high Favor with these nations can provide tremendous trade benefits in addition to other bonuses. Getting buddy-buddy with China, for example, can nab you gunpowder before it's permitted for research. Becoming comfy with these Oriental devils is a tricky business, however: you'll have to alienate yourself from your own European brethren if you wish to pursue glory and gold rather than god.

ON THE SUBJECT OF PAPAL FAVOR
Alienating yourself from the vast riches of the Far East and the knowledge it contains in preference of god has its benefits too. Papal Favor is the perceived devotion of a nation to the Catholic Church. Calling Crusades, receiving Papal aid, and Excommunication are among the tasks affected by Papal Favor.

The Holy Roman Empire starts the RP with a special ability that allows them to establish an Antipope. The Antipope does not track Favor like the normal Pope. Instead, he cancels out the authority of the Pope by nullifying Excommunications. Because the HRE supports the Antipope, they receive these benefits. Other nations may choose to support the Antipope as well, however, they will lose all of their Papal Favor and subject themselves to intense hatred from their more pious neighbors.

ON THE SUBJECT OF VISUALS

cool
but, uh, question
isn't india disunified?

Also, do you have some kind of time-map you use for reference? There's a site called Geacron, but it might not be quite accurate; you can also just boot up Extended Timeline EUIV.

yes, india is historically divided at this time. the whole world won't be revealed to players at the start, so as long as they're in oz-mode behind the curtain, they'll be "unified"

(when colonization of the new world becomes a thing, I'll expand the map)

I've got the map I need for what I need to make right now. thanks for the website though

well i was more intending that as a question but you're welcome

Geacron is the website I've been using for my RPs

geacron is good for general stuff but don't take it to heart, it has a lot of errors

Know of anything better?

I'm working on the map right now

last few (playable) nation sheets I'm gonna make:
- novgorod
- denmark
- aragon

sultanate of rum is literally the seljuk turks and the cumans are a people, not a country

but thanks anyway

I know how I want my map to look. I already said I was shuffling it a bit.

Alright, sorry
Didn't realize that with Rum was the Seljuk, confused them with the Ayyubids
