Author Topic: Blouke is going 175 miles to Yuma AZ via bicycle  (Read 2916 times)

what are you going to do once you get there

i'm talking about not actual heat
if i had any i would

Yeah. Miles and miles of empty road concealed with bushes on the side. Where else would you find a better place to kidnap a bicyclist?
well then

honest question, why are you doing this? is it a class event or something? are your parents or brother going along with you?
because i wanted to travel outside of the valley for once and i wanted to have a challenge
and no one is coming with me except my friend who is also helping me prepare

Nice!

At Niagara Falls last year I ran into a group of bicyclists on a cross-country tour and some others on a New York State ride. It's interesting stuff but the most I've ever biked in a day was 40 something miles.
i've biked around 40 too, i went to mesa to visit my grandparents

Blouke is in luck because Arizona is one of a dozen or so states that even let bicyclists use freeways legally.

But even despite that, he's going to get stopped by pretty much every single highway patrol officer out there. They don't want to let someone die out there if they think they're lost.
my mom always said i couldn't take freeways and highways. huh.
but i have (most of) my route written in a notebook so i'll remember where i am going

what are you going to do once you get there
probably call home telling my mom that i'm ok, rest for a day, prepare for the trip back and go back

beef jerky

best food

lightweight and high protein

Are you going to modify your bike in any way for cargo?

I just moved from Yuma to Flagstaff a few months ago.

WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO TO YUMA

i bought a basket already that can hold a good amount of water plus a bag on my handlebars that can hold four half-liter bottles
the frame already has a bottle holding thing so that's a bonus
and i'm carrying a bunch more water plus food in a backpack and a 100oz circle k cup (filled with water) on my left handlebar
what i need right now is a traveling backpack so i can carry a good amount of stuff and not have the backpack fall apart on me

ok, will get some beef jerky
and carry it in my backpack so my back isn't as overloaded

eh i dunno
i couldn't find a route to flagstaff or a complete one to tuscon so this will have to do

Well the only good part about Yuma is the Mexican food. So enjoy that. Its also hotter than Phoenix most of the time so thats fun.

If i was still living in Yuma id hook you up with some good eats.

EDIT: Also, have you looked at going to Lake Havasu?

Maybe in a couple years you will have a car and get there faster. :cookieMonster:

This should hold a bunch of stuff also has the durability of having a frame.

Would be pretty big tho

Good luck, don't die.
Also, if need be, do not hesitate to call a doctor and get an appointment if anything feels wrong. There is no shame in seeking assistance.

if i had any i would
get hair spray and stick a blow torch on the end
you now are packing heat

Are your parents okay with this?

150 is too much for what money i have left. yesterday i spent 80 dollars on the basket, lights, handlebar bag, pump and extra tube and i have only about 100 left. i also need to save some for buying more supplies when i get to yuma
i don't really want to dig into my savings for extra cash

Are your parents okay with this?
my mom doesn't know about it yet but brickitect will probably find out and tell her anyway
