I had a satellite with 4 gigs of ram and it was pretty alright, nicely built and still worked great after a few accidents.

I currently have one of Asus' Rog series and it's built like a brick. The only reason I got one because carrying a 17 incher all over was unbearable and it doesn't disappoint.
960m, 16gb of ram, 108p, core i7, and 1 tb of hard drive space + 128gb ssd
Which one do you have? I have this one and its very portable and lightweight:
Dude why dont you just save some more for a better laptop. It will be so much better in the long run.
Not too sure about the Acer laptops. You'll probably run into some hardware issues with those.
i have the low resolution (1366x768) on my Asus laptop and it kind of sucks
