hows the quality of the asus itself
its pretty great; had it since christmas 2014, I've dropped it at least once a month, and it still runs really well

good quality but kinda crappy resolution.  Seems like most laptops with i5s have the lower resolution so I wonder how the i5 and HD 5500 graphics would handle full HD...

dude forget lol don't drop it so much, even if it DOES still run well

I'd go with the Aspire E5, simply because of the 940M and the cache SSD

My last ASUS had that 1366x700 or whatever resolution and yes it was a bit low, but honestly its not too bad. Id go for the ASUS if i were you because its specs are good and its 100 bucks cheaper than the other one.

spilled water in the keyboard of my toshiba satailite and it still works to this day. only downside is it needs an external keyboard to function

Gahhh

I grabbed the Toshiba tonight. Best buy has a 15 day return policy and the guy said i could try it out and if I didnt care for it I could return it

edit: its beautiful so far  :cookie:

You really need to take out all that bloatware.

jesus christ thats a lot of bloatware

toshiba satellites are great. i have an older one (intel core 2 duo) and it still works perfectly
it went through two hard drives though and it's on its third

From experience, whatever you decide, make it not Toshiba. I have seen dozens of articles and complaints about how they break and then have horrible customer service that basically rips you off. From personal experience, I can also they don't last long. Don't get a Toshiba.

Planning on it but not for a couple weeks only because if I do decide to return it

not that it matters anyways

Gooood
I really love the aluminum and the size and the backlit keyboard

too late oops but i can return it ugh

Yeah honestly Toshiba computers are not worth the hassle. Turn it in ASAP and go get that ASUS, it's definitely going to be a better quality laptop.

Yeah but it doesn't have the i5, it has the A10, which iirc it's not as good.
