Author Topic: Can the "No Ban Evasion" rule please be re-enforced?  (Read 11185 times)

I remember when flat was banned for a week, he just continued posting on a spare account.

Badspot is so good at slamming people to the floor. Must've taken years of practice.

It's been addressed before. People can buy as many chances as they want.

i agree with this

...even though that was the whole point of this account's creation, it just wasn't meant to be my main acc until, well, certain things happened

but didnt he specifically tell you not to come back

wat

Oh christ, max is gonna blow.  Again. *sigh*, no :/

Look at this stuff:
That's your defense?  That you weren't literally the worst person to ever post on the forum?  Nice.  Gold star.  Nobel prize for internet.
i tried to make a statement relating to the only reason alternative is in this thread, because of me and a mistake that i made over half a year ago
i attempted to go on an alt and not be an ass, but it's hard when you have the group of people that remember the thing you did and constantly poke you about it

Ah, I see, it's all the fault of society.  Simple accountability is just too much to bear for nutbags, so there should be no accountability?
i never tried to say it was the fault of society, i was only stating how if you continue to poke a person that just wants to forget and try again, it isn't going to make them a better person

Oh that old chestnut.  We'd be the next facebook if only we let people get away with being jerks.  It's an extension of the "i'm a paying customer therefore let me stuff on the table" argument.  Hilariously, you'll probably argue that not enough people are banned for being jerks, that's why we're not the next facebook.  This happens with every habitual offender - there's no standard at all, there's only me vs them - "punish them let me go" - "no you're doing it wrong punish them! badspot you're a jerk!"
i wasn't trying to say that you'd be an ass for doing so or punishing them, they should just have a chance to turn over a new leaf and act differently, if users were to constantly bring up past stuff they did it would have a heavy effect on them and they wouldn't get the room to change, if users were to constantly do that, it'd probably just give new users the wrong impression of the situation and turn away from the forum, take the post in whatever way you want but i'm only trying to create a discussion, not an argument to be angry over

if the admin of a forum doesn't like you along with everyone else, I think it might be a sign, maxx.

i agree with enforcing this, but at the same time this is my second account due to the first one getting auto-perma-banned

i'm conflicted

I am conflicted on if it is enforced or not, people will get banned, you get the forum fix, you'll buy another account. I've had to do it 3 times now. Not because I'm a constant stuff thrower, it's because I've posted something bad such as willy bum bum. On my first account, I was banned about 7 times. A few of which were because of flaming, but I've changed. I don't throw stuff as much as I used to (atleast i don't think), but that's beyond me. I learn from my mistakes- but some people here do not. I'm conflicted. I guess it depends on the person who's being banned, if it's a troublemaker like Ocelotus or someone, then yes, I'd enforce it. But, if it was someone who isn't a troublemaker, like hodot, I'd be against it. It depends.

I was banned once on this account, and that was almost a year ago. It was don't care, don't post.

I got permed on my first account for being handicapped and not reading the rules

It's not that hard to read and follow rules, come on.

If you're unsure about what you're posting, don't post it then.
Read over what you're about to post.

Why not take a breather during your initial ban and calm down/think/etc. so you can ignore those """constantly poking you about it""", hell you may even save some money for better things if it's something like 2, 3 days.
Play Blockland a little bit, start a BL project, play some other games you've never touched, the forums are just 1 little thing you can do.

A small amount of time away from the forums isn't the end of the world. Sounds strange to spend $10 just to get a new forum account just to evade a small ban, now that I think about it. Sounds like an addiction.

I'm also sure if the rule were to be re-enforced, Badspot would allow you guys to keep using the account you're using now.

do u get da mone 4 blockland from ur mums credit card

I think the revenue gained is too good for this to be re-enforced.

but then I can't talk mad stuff about taboo anymore
