Schooma code also broken because scuba things

at this point in its development, I agree wholeheartedly.

Just read about the HP system right now

oh god

starmade is also quite pretty on max settings

...uh, look pal, i like starmade as much as the next guy, but it's not the best and it could honestly be better.. still fantastic, but-

hold on.

why the hell is starmade being compared to this game in the first place? and elite? and EVE? those three games are absolutely nothing like each other, and none of them can really be compared to no man's sky. guys pls, a theme or setting does not make the gameplay the same.

You guys are comparing an apple to an orange.

this game as a whole isn't going to end well, you guys are overhyping it a little too much.

seems like the type that'll get boring quick without a large main goal to keep me on the rails

exploring never really meant that much to me on randomized planets anyways, no matter how many you could make

exactly, the influx of planets doesn't just cut it. I think the game would be better off taking a star citizen/elite turn.
giving the player objectives like finding a certain type of rich spice on a planet and getting to a station without being killed type of objectives.
hunting down another infamous player who's caused too much trouble in the galaxy type of missions, or even...
signing up for one of the many government factions that put players against each other in large scale galactic wars.

that would make no man's sky truly fun, and offer actual replayability instead of "oh look, I found a planet..."

no but the update is simply one step forward, two steps back.

We have zero information on what exact objectives/side activities there will be other than getting to the center of the universe.

Prolly the objectives in any rpg. Kill this, kill that. Fetch this, bring that. Etc...
sums it up basicly

                                                                                                                                                     "cool"
well they stated the ultimate goal is to get to the center of the universe, which means that no man's sky could be one of the first games ever to implement a game-wide goal, and that's a pretty badass incentive to play

no man's sky could be one of the first games ever to implement a game-wide goal,
huh?

shores of hazeron anyone? no? okay...

they interviewed the developer at E3, he compared no man's sky to gta's vast open world. when he brought up the word "mission" the developer was quick to say that the game will have no goal whatsoever. its just an open world, or in this case, a galaxy.
