See, I know it ruffles a lot of feathers in the surrounding countries, but I'm not too sure that we will ever see too much come from it.
I'm not sure that Israel will ever really push the Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank, and there's certainly no chance of Israel handing back the land.
I also don't think the Palestinians are of that much threat to Israel ultimately.
the main thing I'm still wondering is how the whole situation is going to be resolved (if ever). a one or even two state solution both seem wildly out of the question when it comes to discussing terms of peace
I'm sure the day a unified israel/palestine or coexistent israel + palestine can function will be the day hell freezes over
Meanwhile I think if a surrounding Islamic nation were to start revving their engines towards Israel, Israel would be backed by the West. Not to say that I think the West would end up in a war alongside Israel, but rather the threat of the West would deter any actual military actions against Israel.
israel's allies are definitely a great deterrent for preventing another conflict in the region, however, I'm sure somewhere down the line there's gonna be a tinderbox just waiting for a spark
arguably the most unfortunate brotherly divide, the middle east is
And to be honest, I don't see there being a war against Israel any time soon by it's neighbours, given that so many of them are currently struggling with their own revolts and insurgencies. I think it would take a fairly consolidated and collected nation to be able to effectively declare war on Israel.
yeah, israel's proved itself time and time again to be able to handle itself, too. plus it's a member of the atomic club, so that's also a good deterrent to anyone trying to stack up against it as well
tbh I don't think it's anywhere in the foreseeable future for even a seven nation army to take down israel what with its technological capabilities
