Author Topic: Looking for a game which allows you to create gamemode servers (Gmod/BL/Arma)  (Read 618 times)

Title.

I want to create a game mode for a game, such as the ones in the title.
I want to create an online open world cowboy themed game mode for a game that's already been created, if not I'll probably use unity to create it.
Thought I'd see if anyone here has a good idea, thanks.

Arma would be great for this, and while gmod most likely has much more resources, the maps are very small.

played a couple mods for arma, but I'd like to have a system where I can make my own map - or at least add buildings to a desert area of a map.

Terraria could be a nice one if you could just create the map and then release it.

What arma game are you speaking of? I might be able to help. Of course, if you are willing to spend money, steam has quite a few simple game creation tools. While they won't be at the quality of unreal, they can get the job done.
Minecraft, with the right mods and texture packs can accomplish this, and you can use a world editor to design things.

arma III, I played altis and a zombie mod

arma should work for this
the weapons mechanics and playerbase is already there,
you're missing things like horses, and you'd probably need other weapons though. i can't imagine either of those things isn't possible, but i know that arma has map modifications somehow.

hmm but I really dislike the engine for arma..

sadly, the arma engine is gonna be your best chance. you'll have to make nearly every asset yourself since i've never heard of a cowboy mod for the game before.
