Author Topic: Youtube 4k is amazing  (Read 1357 times)

i usually run in 1440p because my internet cant load 4k fast enough

I dont see the reason in why to jump to 4k and up displays.
I'm quite content with my 1080 display. Having that big of a monitor on my Computer desk will be idiotic. Plus they're stupidly expensive. I can see why the jump from 720 to 1080 was great, but not this one.

Some one try and show me the pros please.
I got my computer before 4k.
But yes, I do agree.

Even if you don't have a 4k monitor, it does look a bit better compared to 1080p due to the down sampling and such. It's too much for my internet conection sadly, so it buffers like every 10 seconds.

A larger resolution doesn't mean its bigger physically necessarily. It's extremely sharp and crisp compared to 1080p.

I have the Lenovo Y50 with 4k. It's pretty loving sweet,

Whoops, repost. I thought my post didnt post.

What do you mean?
Just because a computer can handle 4k, it doesn't mean the display is. The video is downscaled to the resolution it's playing at (aka video size) anyways.

Go into where the display settings are on a mac and look at the resolution. It should look something like this:

4k is 3840 X 2160 pixels.

EDIT: Im an idiot. I actually clicked the YT link and damn that is a crisp video.

oh, my computer is only 1920x 1080

My internet is a LAN cable fyi

its like internet from a wire
you're thinking of an ethernet cable. i know what an ethernet cable is. LAN is Local Area Network, which i barely know anything about but i don't think there's such thing as a LAN cable. Unless I'm handicapped.

Internet couldn't loving handle that

I struggle with 1080p unless the video is absolutely still.

then 4k video wont do anything significant for you. 4k refers to the resolution which is 3840 x 2160 (not even 4000 for some reason), and you have significantly less than that many pixels. it might be "crisper" but for the amount of bandwidth it eats i don't think it makes much sense

It still looks more amazing than 1080P, and 1440P
