Author Topic: Does anyone else think Five nights as Freddy's is overrated?  (Read 2741 times)

Yes. Not as overrated as sonic or MLP, but it's getting there.

Also, watch Mcjob come in here and write a paragraph on how the game is bad as well as the fandom
Alright I agree with his statement but a whole paragraph that is uncalled for.

i think the first one was interesting and had a lot of charm, and i think the games tell a cool story in the background.

Camel you have almost the same opinion as me on the first game but after that and the fandom started the game went downhill.

The first game had a pretty great lore and came out of no where which was great. The rest of the games though are just there to make a quick buck. So yes.

But mainly I just hate the fandom because it's practically what the sonic fandom was in the early/mid 2000's. Annoying kids and annoyingly bad fan art.

no, for the first time ever you are literally the only one

pick up your pizza trophy from the front desk

Thats what I hate the fandom for too I think the only non-annoying member of the fandom is one of the admins on tezuni's prison escape.
Your right about the art we all know the sonic fandom created this atrocious abomination . Who knows what the fnaf fandom will create.

i enjoy the games a lot and think it's a good, scary / tense game, but it's not really horror. it's the kids that act like it's the magnum opus of horror games that give it it's bad reputation

that and popular games that pewdiepie has played must be bad

i think the games are stuffty but i'm not going to stuff on people because they like it

I agree part of the way on your opinion now people act like its the pinnacle of the horror genre is what I agree on. But on the game quality point you made the technology that was used to make the game is terribly outdated its not even proper 3D! All it does is use pre-rendered images and sprites to give the illusion of 3d the same way late 90s point and click games gave the illusion of 3D. Not that I hate late 90s point and click games which were awesome.

I'm not taking a crap on them because they like the game im picking at the fandom for over obsessing with the characters.  Lets be honest  the fandom is on the same level of atrocity as the other annoying fandoms.

This all the way to the sun.

The fanbase is scarier than the games themselves, which are nothing but bunches of gifs strung together into a series. The first three games were released a few months away from each other, which goes to show how little work goes into each game before it's swimming in upvotes cast by fangirls on Steam Greenlight.
Yes, I do think the franchise is overrated. It does a good job of creating suspense, I'll give it that, but everything else is a mess. There's a massive build-up to what's ultimately a single short-lived jumpscare, and after that, there isn't much else to do.
The graphics look like they're from mid-2000s, which isn't even a thinly-veiled jab at PC games developed at that time. It's just lazy.
There's barely any replay value after the first few times. Fair enough, most try again after the first failure, but after that, there isn't much else to see.

That is all true right there! including the suspense part!

this i don't agree with, i think the look of the FNAF is very unique, even if it is a bit retro. it got a bit old, but i still think it looks really cool.
