What is this?
For the past few weeks, I've been working on a mod for Blockland that simulates having to survive in the wild, where your only tool is your wit. Every time you spawn, you are dropped in a random location inside of a massive forest. Your main concerns include hunger, sleep, and other players.

Gameplay Mechanics
  • Hunger System
The hunger system is based on ticks. Every tick, you lose a bit of hunger. In order to regain hunger, you need to track down and kill one of the many wild animals that roam around the forest. There is a scale of how hungry you are, from one to ten. If you reach zero, you immediately die. Animal meat restores one tenth of your hunger. If you die, your hunger resets to 3/10.
  • Fatigue System
Similar to the hunger system, every tick that passes by makes you sleepier. You have the choice to either consciously sleep, with the command /sleep, or you can wait until you eventually faint when your rest amount goes to zero. While you are sleeping, you are separated from your body. You become a dream ghost, and you are able to roam the land and scout territories. Even though you can't damage people, waking players can spot you and kill you, which wakes you up. While you are asleep, your real body is very vulnerable. Be sure to sleep in a spot where no one could find you.

  • Tribe System
This system is one of the main parts of Survival RPG, and something that will probably keep you coming back. Players are able to start their own tribe, and recruit members. There are many things tribes are capable of doing. One of these things is claiming land. It is very beneficial to the tribemembers, since it is harder to destroy and break into bases that are on tribal lands. This is because some build materials are protected, and can't be destroyed when placed on claimed land. Tribes can also go to war over pieces of land, and during a war the tribes participating have the option of settling on their enemies' land. Tribemembers can communicate through tribechat, using the command /tc.

  • Crafting System
Scattered around the environment, there are special bricks that you are able to pick up by using the light key. Currently, there are wood logs, wood planks, strings, silver ore, iron ore, and steel ore. There are many things you can craft, weapons and armor being a few of those things. The three types of metals are, from weakest to strongest, silver, iron, and steel. They can be used for armor and weapons. Each armor type shaves off a bit of damage from all incoming attacks, but they can also break after they've absorbed too much damage. Every single piece of armor has a unique amount of durability. The different swords have different colors.

  • Building System
In-game, you can use the command /buildmode to place blocks down with your light key instead of picking them up. Alternatively, you can use your keybind for your /alarm emote. The primary building material is wooden planks, since they are very plentiful. You can also place down metals, in order to not lose them all when you die. It is possible to build massive bases, in order to hide your valuable resources. It is highly reccomended to build on tribal land that you belong to, since people that aren't in your tribe will not be able to destroy your dirt (yet they can still rob your house of metals).

  • Nametag System
While playing the game, your actions decide what nametags are available to you. For example, if you kill a lot of people, you are allowed access to the "Warrior" tag. If you are the leader of a tribe, you get access to the "Leader" tag. Tags show up as replacements for clan-tags in ingame chat. Tags help for character development, staying in-role, and letting other people know about who you are.

How can I help?
The Survival RPG mod in itself is complete. It just needs to be beta tested a bit. The only problem is that I don't exactly have a build. Even though i have zero talent in this sort of stuff, I built a small peice of land to demonstrate what I think the landscape would end up like, found here. I need someone who is good with terrain, since honestly thats what most of the build is going to be. I doubt the final product is going to have caves like that, they'd probably end up being more tunnel-like. Below is an application for people with skills. If you don't have a skill (such as building), you can't apply. I only accept people that can only administrate when I see they are a good person on the server.
Name:
BL_ID:
Steam:
Sample of your skills: (such as a picture of a build)
You can also PM me on the forums if you want to be a part of the beta testing. Leave any ideas you may have below.
Edit: If Terrain Generator v3 gets released, I think I might end up using that. It's going to be a pretty big map.

Sure! Do you have a steam or something? I'm trying to decide what style the terrain would be in, since the map would be pretty big. Thex0r wants to help too, and he's pretty awesome at brickscaping. I'm not sure how willing he is to work in other styles though. Some of his past work can be found here.

I learned how to model last night. Does anyone think that a giant flagpole where someone claims tribal land is a good idea? Should I make the model look more ancient? How 'bout a totem? brb making one

Edit: Looks good!

Sweet idea, would love to see the planning finalized and a functional environment fully created!
