for those that don't know in the comics Batman had a contingency plan to kill every superhero in the event that something went south. the main plot is probably batman thinking superman is too powerful to be on earth and superman just fighting back.
also probably kryptonite thrown in the mix.
or maybe just differing moral views
it's Hollywood they'll make an action movie out of a clam, who needs plot
