I can't stand all the Randy Pitchford/Gearbox hate. People are bitching, moaning and crying about Aliens: Colonial Marines and Duke Nukem Forever. For those who need the reality check:
-All they did for DNF was package all the assets made over the past 12+ years, get the game to run, add a tiny bit of polish and ship it. They said from the very get-go that DNF was not going to be the game people expected and that it was a rush job.
-Colonial Marines wasn't Gearbox's fault (at least, they don't deserve the majority of blame). They started doing it, then they got on the Borderlands hypetrain and Sega (who are normally extremely brown town about the treatment of Aliens) didn't give a stuff so they gave the game to Timegate, who were mentally deficient and ruined everything. Gearbox then had to come in with a tiny budget and get the game running. Don't get pissed off at the wrong people.
Yeah, Pitchford sounds like a douchebag 90% of the time he does a press release. It doesn't change the fact that he's not to blame for the inadequacies of everybody else that his company ends up having to fix and take a fisting for.
