Correction, as far as we know aliens don't exist. There currently is no physical evidence of non-earth lifeforms, but that doesn't mean there isn't any out there. Nobody knows for sure whether or not alien life exists because the mechanisms from which life forms is not fully understood and it's not clear what the probability of any given planet giving rise to life is.

Actually, the only thing we know is that we don't know. Both saying alien life form exist and don't exist would be equally ignorant since we can't prove or disprove either.

I think it's a waste of time and money to specifically try to find aliens
nothing going to come of it... but other than that, what are we gonna do? like, if we did find some, what would we do?? there is nothing we could do, except for continue to sit here like we've been doing for the past million years

The sun is a typical star. There are also a forget ton of stars in the galaxy that are older, not to mention in other galaxies as well. Some of these stars should have a earth-life planet.

Earth is not the first planet, there have been many many many more planets that have come before it, as far back as like 999999 billion years ago or something like that. If there is a civilization created before our time, by now they should of colonized the galaxy considering the time gap.
