Bottom line: Is it worth the format and time to upgrade or should I stay on Windows 8.1?

YES YES YES IT IS.
Seriously, coming from a Windows 7 user it works really well and I haven't ran into any problems using nor did I in the installation. The installation only took like a couple of hours for me and it went pretty smooth.

I got the same thing.  My mom is probably gonna take my computer into the geek squad if she can't figure out wtf is going on, since w got the computer from best buy.
