Does logic really matter here? In just cause 2 the solution to falling towards the ground at terminal velocity and surviving is to grapple at the ground, pulling you in even faster. I didn't see anyone complaining.

You also seem to have an infinite supply of parachutes in both just cause 2 and 3, and your grapple is extremely powerful yet never flies off your arms or injures them. It's also powered from seemingly nothing, able to go on literally forever. You also don't need to eat, drink, piss or take dumps on a regular basis.

None of these detract from the game because it's just too goddamn fun
