So this guy got really pissed off with the fact that there are too many obese and overweight people today (which is very loving vague as I don't see that many overweight people in public and he doesn't specify which community or society he is talking about)
Why is that not something to be angry about? We've created a culture where people maintain a diet that will cause them suffering down the line. It seems pretty natural to be unsettled by that.
Also, 35.7% of the US population is obese. Whether or not you've observed this personally has absolutely no bearing on that fact. It's just true.
This guy thinks he is a motivator to get fat people off their asses and telling them to stop being lazy and all that stuff.
"Oh no, he's encouraging people to live a better lifestyle so that they don't have to have their feet lopped off in their mid 50s. What a bigot!"
Now not all people are fat from eating mac Donald's all day some people are born with diseases that makes them overweight and they can't get fit in anyway possible.
The 4.5% of Americans with hypothyroidism and the even smaller groups of people with rare genetic disorders and the like cannot even come close to accounting for the 35.7% of Americans who are obese. The Mayo Clinic itself calls inactivity the primary cause of obesity.
This guy does not accept overweight people ANYWHERE. He says that we should accept everyone like the way we treat ourselves but then goes on to saying "I'm not accepting an obese person".
What I've gathered from actually watching the video and listening to what he said is that he's not telling anyone to discriminate against fat people or treat them badly because of their life choices. He's telling people not to become complacent about a behavior that's indisputably terrible for your health. You wouldn't be complaining about his video if he was trying to get people to stop smoking or to stop abusing drugs, but because he's encouraging people to have a healthier diet and exercise, he's in the wrong?
""We should accept everybody". You go right the forget ahead. You go right ahead and support that unhealthy lifestyle and be an enabler and watch them eat themselves into an early grave. Or you can look at them and say, "look, if you need help, come to me". I'm sitting here offering you my services. Telling you how to eat right, how to exercise, and get yourself into a healthy body and not have to deal with these bullstuff issues down the line".
This just sounds like a person who cares for public health.
