You know in Super Mario Sunshine, there really isn’t any women. Sure, we have Peach who is the constant damsel in distress. But we also have FLUDD, the robot attached to Mario’s back. FLUDD doesn’t get to be her own character. She’s just an attachment to a male who uses her when his needs arise. He already has his own powers and strength and now he harnesses hers as well. She does so willingly, but, why can’t she just stand on her own as a character? Why can’t we just choose to be FLUDD instead of having to be attached to some man? All that does is make Mario stronger, rather than making a woman empowered. And seriously why does Peach have to wear pink? Couldn’t she still be a girl and rock a nice blue color?
