Author Topic: What would your reaction be if a person made a game that's a prison in a VOLCANO  (Read 1877 times)

sounds like Adult Swim's Super Jail

actually from a narrative perspective 'it's in a volcano' is pretty airtight

the volcano is erupting but nobody can find a way out, and all the tools to escape the prison are in reach in the prisoners, so the guards are going nuts and have gone totally murder-happy because the lava's rising and it's hitting the lower parts of the jail first and some are trying to keep order but others are just forgetin shooting everyone they can because hoLY stuff, the VOLCANO is forgetIN ERUPTING

but then in all this chaos the prisoners also have to escape because tHE VOLCANO IS forgetIN ERUPTING and they can use the chaos to their advantage grabbing things off of dead guards or waiting for lava to hit important power generators so they can break into areas that only open after a certain amount of time has passed

and ultimately the goal of both sides is to escape the volcano before it forgetIN ERUPTS but wheras the prisoners don't have weapons the guards don't have tools and you obviously can't work together so both teams have to sabotage one another (and possibly eachother within the same team) in order to escape
this is amazing

Some rooms can be destroyed first... then slowly progresses to the courtyard, where theres an exit, and all the prisoners are forced to run for it.

Makes me wonder as to why build a prison in a volcano in the first place.

presumably because its harder to escape when its not erupting, and there's also the overlying threat that if you escape the prison you might just fall into the lava like a big idiot making the point moot anyway

there's also the overarching narrative implication that blockland building designers are generally not that smart people because they do things like build prisons over active volcanos

Well, my suggestion:

You're in a prison.. inside a volcano. It erupts near the start of the game and the walls are blown off, giving the prisoners access to the outer prison area, where if they manage to not die by lava, they can grab guns and combat with the guards.

The prison I'm currently making May not be a Volcano themed one but I might have to see how it turns out if it does not go well I might try to make it Valley/Mountain themed one where the escape plan is to drive and run through a forest.
