9th grade charter schools, man. AP Environmental science and AP Human Geography.

For the APES, We have to read through the whole textbook, write 3 paragraphs explaining each chapter's main ideas, then do all the work (take notes for every paragraph the teachers says) for the first two chapters.

For the APHG, We have to report on the news twice a week, and memorize every country in the world, as well as draw out a full world map detailing climate zones and boundaries. There will be a test first day of school.

When I was in school I always ignored the "summer assignment" as did everybody else.

how much salt have you eaten today

I don't even understand how summer homework works. You don't have the same teacher the next year, so how can they verify that you did it? The only way I can see it working is if every teacher assigned the same summer homework for every grade and then they collected it the next year.

although i didn't do the summer work and i still passed that stuff lol

I remember in 2011 I did my Summer Reading assignment, but since 90% of the kids didn't do it, it just counted as extra credit. So remember kids, if nobody does their work then maybe it might not be required!
