Do you think money can buy happiness?

/discuss

Money buys alcohol and prostitutes, which bring the happiness.

It can buy hookers, that's for sure.

Money can buy hookers
Hookers give you STDs
STDs ruin your life

Money can buy food
Food can nourish you
Food can also kill you
Food also can make you overweight and hate yourself

Money can buy alcohol
Alcohol can ruin your liver and cause an ulcer
those would ruin your life

I'd say no

Money buys nice things which in turn make me happy

I'm a very shallow person btw

Yes.

It does not guarantee happiness though.

money can keep you healthy and content, so if combined with whatever else makes you happy, sure

It's a step, sometimes. Some of the most successful people are horribly depressed and never happy. When you don't have as much money, big gifts and purchases mean so much more. When you have everything, nothing money can buy is truly pleasing anymore.

If you buy things that make you happy then i suppose so. I wouldn't say that just having money would do anything though.

depends on what makes you happy

I've saved up a nice chunk of change. I spend rarely beyond bills and food. I splurge once or twice a year. My happiness increased exponentially when I paid off my school debt and just started sitting on my cash. Think of it like a dragon with her hoard of gold, jewels, and finery.
